Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland Australia about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark 🙂
How long does it last in the fridge?
"SSMP!" Self Sufficient Meat Pie! When I first saw you putting together your "sauce" I thought HORROR! You're making ketchup! Then I realized you were making a condiment and not necessarily tomato "sauce" like I imagined. Sweet video.
I'd never count them. Waste of time
my friend your garden looks amazing
I'm doing it with black cherry tomatoes this year.
You are so silly! Lol! I so enjoy your channel! Keep up the great, authentic work!
earned a like just for counting the tomatos LOL
The patience u have is impressive
This is so good, mark you make me lol
Did you add water or vinegar?
That looks amazing!!
Yes best quality cherries tomatoes
Tried this recipe, it is wonderful. It is really wonderful! This recipe is now in my permanent list of recipes I will definitely make this one again. Thank you for sharing your recipe! 🙂
Could you use a blueberry harvester next time? its like a hand held rake with a bucket on it.. brush it thru the vines.. I seen 'homestead tessie' doing it.
Try to replace sugar with finely chopped carrots 😉 Same sweetness, better taste. And a little celery 🙂
You actually counted them?
I'd like the recipe. Unfortunately we had a hurricane blow through last night and with 5 inches of rain and high winds the cherry tomatoes were all blown over. I stood up and salvaged what I could and I'm hoping for the best. I love my mini tomatoes!
Used to grow most all my own food, when I had the Ex's kids to take care of, it saved money, tasted better, and was clean!!!!! These days it's just me, I work overtime in these months, and it's just too much for me to do. These days I have digestive issues, stresses that I never had before, and well, it's hard to cook for 1! Plus, I don't care to live for ever. Only 'til the good Lord says it's my time! I am 54, and not interested in relationships, or gardens, or owning a nice home, or anything materialistic. The less I have, the less I leave behind, and the less anyone has to deal with. My interests are in just, living as long as God says! To hell with everyone else! Some day, I won't wake up, and that day will be my retirement! I don't have kids, and won't be leaving anything to HER KIDS! I wish that wasn't the case, but it's my reality, and that's what I have to deal with. Peace! Great video by the way!
Thank you for giving the idea what to put into the sauce, but no sugar!!
That is one epic cherry tomato harvest !
goodday!
Hi mark, love your videos. Just had to comment on how beautiful your nails are. I'm guessing your wife must give you regular manicures! I enjoy a good spa day from time to time! Thanks for your content
