Love watching you and Tuck play! Love this journey, "building the new food forest".
why use the contractor's paper? would it make much difference if you just went straight to woodchips?
Very nice progress. When did you start and is what you grow enough to feed 2 people for 8 months out of the year sufficiently?
James you are very good teacher and your enthusiasm is inspiring to watch.
Well done. wish you a happy new year
Thanks for sharing this video Bob… wood chips arenโt easy to get in my area. Strangely enough I live in an area surrounded by forest but wood chips are all sent to pulp mills.
I like the poly face hoodie
Is the paper you use durable enough compared to cardboard? It looks like something first rain will dissolve.
Dropping the wisdom like Solomon bro ๐ Side note, I am in the process of slowly mulching my entire half acre lot ๐
Thanks for all u r doing n thanks for sharing your life with us God bless
very important question can u start the forest floor year round?i remember you saying the best time was in the fall.also can u do a vid of books you reccomend for newbies like me. thanks in advance.
Another great video James, thanks for sharing! Nice that you took time out to play with Tuck too ๐ Great camera work! I always meant to mention that but keep forgetting. Please let whoever is doing that work that it's awesome.
Behind the scenes videos are great. Look forward to seeing more.

What would happen without the paper, assuming the chips are 8" deep?
I will like to see it in person and help out
LOVE THIS VID!!! THANKS SO VERY MUCH!!!!
Its the small things that makke a big difference. Watching you build the forest from the dirt up is how I learn..I wish I was'nt such a wimp in the cold…I could get so much done..sigh

Hi
I am planning to make a food forest. The place is 8 meter by 8 meter and full with stinging nettles. I only did find two ways for removing them. The chemical way and the manual way (removing them by hand). I don't prefer both. And just putting woodchips on top wouldn't work they grow trough. Any tips? I live on Belgium if the climate matters.
Wonderful stuff bro! You and Tuck just make it happen in every way! Right on! ๐
James great video.
when working with power tools i always pull out any hoodie pull strings. they are pretty pointless any ways.
Merry Christmas James and Tuck and Tiny and Most Mysterious Brother/Cameraman!
Must say, I prefer this sort of thing over the before & after – though both have merit. Thanks for always putting out valuable, heart-felt content.
