I find it very interesting and I stop to look up the seeds on ebay after you show us what your going to sow. It’s my second year trying to grow flowers and fruit/veg so it’s great to learn new stuff
If you are looking for something that likes shade have you ever grown thalictrum it's beautiful I don't know if it would cope with your heat but maybe worth a look
Be careful I have nepeta catmint and lemon balm but lemon balm is VERY invasive I had 1 small plant and it is now all over my garden I am uk so wetter than you but please be careful it can cope with heat and wet and cold
I wonder if daylength affects lisianthus bloom.
The Persian cress wasn’t available this fall, but Johnny’s has it now. I just ordered some. Can you grow catmint for foliage?

Over here we don't get a lot of snow (zone 5b) but when we did, my father always put snow into his green house! Helps to rinse out the soil because the rain doesn't in a green house

Agreed. The cinnamon basil did far better than my other basil's in reference to staying pretty for my bouquets! I started using my Holy basil and it works pretty well
Did you consider growing Agastache scrophularifolia? It is even taller than anise hyssop and is hardy to my understanding to zone 3. We purchased these as liners, but seed is also available via native nurseries.

What is the best way to decide how many of each type to plant? Work backwards from how many bouquets/stems you want each week? Are there some that have a 'rule of thumb' for quantities?

I like the seed talks. I do wish instead of doing them in a live, you would do a structured video where you could pop a pic of the plants on the screen. A lot of the plants I know what they look like, but the ones I don’t I wish I had a visual.

Hey love your videos! I grew a blue oyster kit over the summer it fruited 3 times in the house then I crumbled the block into my garden and mixed with some woodchips, and it kept fruiting! Then later in fall I swear I saw an old blue oyster growing from the compost pile on the side of the yard. I'll have to see if they pop up again next year. Have fun and give us an update on them and pics!

Pinch the Catnip at about 4 inches down that way it'll "bush out", right off the bat and won't have issues with "stabilizing" itself.
(ANY higher up, [pinching at a taller stalk] runs the risks of "NEEDING" things like:
– stakes, orange-mesh, strings everywhere, etc.
..I've found this easier for ME, to be able to "propagate" more chunks off of the main plant, to scatter it across in diff areas.
Just a hit of what I've noticed, what works, etc. (I'm legit, a 5 min walk from the Canadian border in VT)
