VIDEO: Water Witching In Appalachia~

Since we are having repairs done to our field line, the first step was to locate them since they are not on record. Today, this gentleman found them by using this old technique before verifying them with actual probes. It was pretty amazing watching him work! Enjoy and thanks for watching!

  1. We do the same here in Indiana and one elder around here used to use one willow stick and when she would get to a good spot it would start moving up and down and that would tell her how far they should drill and she wasn't off or wrong once.

  2. My Grandpa was a water witch. He didnt like to do it. I think because he was a preacher. Lucky I got to watch once. I remember paying close attention and him showing me how the bark would even peel as the stick turned. Crazy…. Thanks for the videos and sharing with us.

  3. ~~~I have done that very thing =) It is amazing to feel them move in your hands ~~~  My granddad had it done to locate where my moms well should be dug and he made sure the bit was on top of that X…. after yrs of no water and neighbors having sulfur wells we watched the bit blow back up out of the ground and the water shoot forth!!! 40 PLUS gallons a minute ! NO SULFUR!

  4. my husband did the same thing last year when we put a water faucet in our front field for our irrigation. he had me try it because I didn't believe him. lol I thought he was just picking on me. it felt really neat when they moved on their own.

  5. BOY I WISH MY FEET WERE IN FRONT OF THAT FIRE!!!! ( ^◡^)/

My GrandDaddy taught me to do this when I was little. Idk what kind of tree branch it was, but it had to be a Y shape, and it would dip down toward the ground real hard where there was water (supposedly – idk if there was b/c nobody ever dug, but I remember roaming the earth with a dipping Y branch for a good long while.).

  6. I watch a lady find graves in an abandon part of an old cemetery. She also claimed that she could tell if it was a man or woman's grave. That could have been a little too much but did see the rods move over real graves.
