That was awesome!!! So glad you were able to film that! Thank you! Love your channel!
Congratulations !
That's a beautiful thing!!! Thank You!! God Bless!!
Wow, what a wonderful video. I am so happy for you and Belle and Mayfield. What a good Mamma she is. Congrats Patara.
Oh, that Momma moo is like nothing else. It's my favorite.
Do you have a horse on the homestead
Is she a heffir or has she calved before?
That was amazing!
That's a big baby, and a good mama. Thanks for sharing. Great video!
Thank you for sharing. Living in the city does not provide many of these experiences.
Wow, what a healthy cow and calf. I can't believe how quickly Belle got up afterwards, she's a good mum. So glad you didn't feel the need to interfere. So many people have gotta get in there and "help" when it isn't necessary. Just wondering who the other cow is, is she a heiffer? We are thinking about getting a Dexter cow. She's in calf and a friend has offered to sell her to us. Haven't milked before so a bit nervous about the whole thing. Apparently she see's you coming in the paddock with a bucket and she moves her leg back to allow for milking. LOL
How do you know when it's time to step in? Do you want to have a vet on standby?
So Beautiful…made me cry. Thanks for sharing the wonderful birth.
congratulations!! he must be Big now
Isn't it miraculous? No 'Lamaze' classes, no ante-natal visits but she knew what to do and to do it immediately. I know I'm late seeing this but I was pushing with her, and holding my breath wanting to help her I can only imagine how hard it was for you to see that and have to let nature take it's course. Your bull calf is gorgeous. Is it part of the breed that makes her look so bony or part of dairy cattle in general? (I know you feed & care for her very well, genuine question not a dig)
Do you hae a vet close by? In case of emergency, like a breech birth. Just wondering..
why is she so thin?
Watching cows have babies while live streaming April the giraffe. 🙂 spring is a wonderful time of year.
So awesome!
great video
We have had two calves so far this spring. one doing fabulous…but second has had to be supplemented, he took some colostrum and perked up really well. let him go back to mama yesterday and he went at her teats with vigor and determination and she let him feed well. Today…she parked him in full sun and went off to the other end of the pasture and is ignoring him totally. We are giving it another 15 min then will bring him in and at least bolus feed him with some electrolytes if his neck skin is tenting.
She is a first time mama and I am afraid to say she is just not "getting it"
edited to add…mama did return to baby and fed him lunch. Guess she is just more of a hands off type mama. Just wish she would pick shadier spots to park the lil booger.
i noticed we have the same kind of birds in the background here in CA. do cows always lay down to give birth? i watch the incredible dr. pohl and the cows are standing as a rule. it makes me cringe when he uses that calf puller apparatus with the chains, ugh.
just amazing!!!!
What a sweet Momma Bella is, she jumped right up and took care of her little guy!
Awesome congratulations
Thanks for the video! Very informative as we have purchased 6 pregnant cows about a month ago. I've experienced lambing with my sheep, but this will be a first for cows. My question is, was he able to find the udder on his own, or did you kinda have to help him find it?
What an amazing video. Thank you for sharing this miracle with us
Intense moments , even for me watching..great addition to the homestead. I'm glad that everything went well with the birthing ..
