  1. The best and easiest way to preserve beetroot is pressure canned in water. I don’t even peel them I just scrub the mud off and fill the jars with cold water then can them as if they are potatoes. When you want to eat them the skin peels off easy and the beetroot tastes much better than when preserved in vinegar.

  2. Have you ever thought of painting the panels of your greenstalks? They look wonderful, but I've always thought greenstalks could use a little something to break up the mass of plastic. Personally I see a whole bunch of mini canvases 🙂

  3. Just did my first garden ever! I’ve always helped my momma. So I’ve got some knowledge. But I need some more ideas of what to put in!!!! I’ve got tall boys, beef steak, and cherry tomatoes. Green beans. Zucchini. Bell, inferno, and jalapeño peppers. I want to do potatoes for my kids. And other things! But I don’t have any education on any of those!!!

  4. My husband’s grandmother would make “cream potatoes” that were the best! She would find the smallest ones, just bite size, boil and make a cream sauce with salt and pepper. Loved them.

  5. I’m amazed that you didn’t even have to water your potato patch! Here in Utah, we are praying for rain. Even in normal summers, we irrigate our gardens twice a week. (Plus our temperatures this week are high 90*s. Today was 102*. This breeds humility and patience.)

  6. Yes, icicle radish is supposed to deter squash bugs. I planted icicle radish encircling all my squash plants last year and they still killed all my squash plants. They even killed my squash but resistant winter squash. I left them go to seed. I also heard that squash bugs are drawn to the color yellow. I burried yellow solo cups about half way. Still had them. I'm not planting any squash this year. Telling my friends to think of me when they are giving their squash away.

  7. Ok Amazon has this cool thing, can't remember the name but I'll try to find it. You put a window ac unit in a shed or outdoor building and this little thing from Amazon writes to the ac unit and it will keep a small room into a cooler, literally a walk in cooler. My aunts stays a steady 44 degrees Fahrenheit all summer. He garden veggies laid out on racks stay fresh much longer in the cooler. If I find it I'll link it in a reply here. Just a thought for Jill having a cooling system for flowers….
