Good idea thanks for sharing
Never used those but did use Thule and it absolutely kept squirrels and other critters away from my potatoes and sweet potatoes grown in planters! Just wrapped it around the tomato cages that I put into the planters upside down, and fastened with clothes pins. They had been digging in the dirt, but not at all after doing that! It also helps to give a tiny bit of relief from super hot days, cuts back on the heat factor but sunlight can come thru aok.
Possums ate through my mesh bags last year. I hope the stockings will deter them otherwise I will have to build cages
You could also use jewelry fabric aka sheer organza bags.

" I need those for my plants" was undoubtedly met with a VERY sceptical look by the store clerk as the 18th century cult member made his first purchase.
The Dollar store carries pantyhose too! (The brand you got are $8 in Walgreens) so you can save some $ too
I remember when L'eggs used to be sold in color coded plastic eggshells.
I have fruit flys and I am in southern ontario/Canada. Lost every single one of my jalapenos. They all looked fine but inside they each had a small maggot
well if you put them on when they are small, the hose will stretch, LOL FINALLY a good use for panty hose.
How can the Amish be using nylon hose? Those things were not available in 1835!!
Thickness of a thigh? What? A peasant woman?
This is the best I seen in my search
Leggings! Ha! I guess your wife didn’t watch this video….so funny Luke…
I'll try this… the squirrels ate my tomatoes…. my first year gardening and I was going to build a net cage around them but the cost was more than I could afford. This is inexpensive so I will try it.
I use those strawberry clamshells for the tomatoes…i pop them over the bunches just before they ripen.
Where is the follow up video that shows that it works?
so your basically covering your crops in plastic. plastic leaches in heat. the sun will allow chemicals to be released onto the foods. this is a horrible idea family
Hmmm… would this keep squash bugs out?
I've been trying to figure out what kind of a boxer whatever I was going to build this is genius this is all I need right here thanks
That’s a lot of work
The cost of leggings are probably more than buying the food
I can a lot of tomatoes every year and couldn't afford to buy leggins/hose for every tomato I grow. But it would be good if you only had one or two plants.
You realized you should have purchased a larger size, but you also should have purchased a thigh-high stocking if you want something longer. What you have purchased looks like the knee-high length. Dollar Store might have the less-expensive off-brand. I'll purchase a variety of both the knee-high and thigh-high stockings to keep on-hand. Hopefully it will keep the bugs off my zucchini. Great tip. Thanks for sharing it.
Tulle works just as well and can be custom cut to size. Bonus: much more affordable.
instructions start at 3:57!!!!
They're called Leggs, not Leggings, silly.
