  1. I do i understand. Raised invthe city but lived like we were in the rural parts of society my mom took all my dads grass away in our back yard for a garden and fruit trees manure came in the spring we turned it in the dirt spring planted summer planted we were the only kids on block up at sunrise working in the garden gathering and taking care of our food source for winter because my dad woek slowed down in winter. I live this way still pafio is not for relaxing its for my food that though i live in city live simple and can my food i am sgocked and still stocking so proud of my sister finally listening and helped her start her garden this year and she has plenty kf yard for it

  2. Patara, I’m in north central Arkansas and we are getting swamped. I’ll send showers your way because we don’t need anymore right now. Here’s to May showers!

  3. Something got our new corn shoots in our 3 sisters planting so I planted more corn today with a cup around the seeds like you do with tomatoes to keep the bugs from getting to it again.

  4. I have extra tomato plants under the grow lights….just in case we have some that we just planted, and still have to cover every night, don't make it! If they all take, I will take my extras and plant them in huge buckets! I'm super excited because I taught myself how to pressure can this winter! Now I can process our garden way more efficiently!

  5. It’s a lot to do and exhausting! Doing our best to take care of our home, my mom and dads home plus helping my neighbor……….planting a bigger garden. Never sit down until dark.

  6. Your gardens are beautiful. I pray all produce an abundance of food. I tried last year but I have health issues and I'm not able to stop and bend. I had pretty garden and had to go out of town for two days and came back and deer, squirrels, birds had stripped vines, bushes etc. I literally cried. Thus year I've been buying all the produce I can and are canning, dehydrating and packaging as much as possible.

  7. Truth on East Tennessee weather. I live here too and we dont usually have alot of wind mid-day in May. Plus the temperatures are usually 80 not 90 in May.

  8. I got a hound dog that my wonderful daddy decided that we needed a few years ago. She gets to live life as a pet, and the loves to keep rabbits and other pesky things out of the yard. She is a gentle thing and great with kids. Win win.

  9. I agree with the weather, we was in your part of the country over the weekend, and I noticed that and thought this is like Florida. And the sun bearing down burning like a hot oven was weird.

  10. I live in southwest Wyoming. Can't even think about putting anything out till June 1st. We're still getting snow. And my is very short, its over in September. This year I need my knee replaced. We are doing container gardening to make things easier. But only planting a small.amount. So.yes I have back up and still adding to it.

  11. I go to the dollar tree and stock up on the clothes baskets…I line them with a trash bag …fill with dirt…stab holes toward the bottom…then plant..some have peppers..some tomatoes..some with potatoes…I also use feed sacks…I'm older and this makes it so much easier for me…so far everything is growing great…

  12. My husband was teasing me earlier, he said, "Hey this garden thing was your idea. How come I'm doing most of the work"? He then confessed that every time he goes to Home Depot, or the nursery, he comes back with more plants or seeds;))

  13. We have Green beans, bushes and poles, Zucchini, Cherokee Purple Tomatoes, Beefsteak, Chard, Romaine, Peppermint celery (yummy). 3 kinds of spinach, snap peas, and carrots. So far, the only problem I've had was starting some seeds. The green pole beans only a 1/4 germinated. I have others to start, pray, cross your fingers, say a hail Mary….. Blessings.
