Nice but where do u find straw with out GRAZON. didn't know n that runed my garden for over 3+ yrs
Great data as always, Jeff. Neighbors rolled their eyes when I placed a plastic Powerade bottle in the midst of every thing I planted this season. I dug down about 5", put 2 holes in the bottom of the bottle & 4 along the sides approx. 3/4" from the bottom of said bottle. They're 16-20 oz. sizes & I watch them blow bubbles/chug that water down….I apologize, I'm easily entertained in the garden.
If it's been super dry & the bugs are not trying to carry me away….I'll refill those bottles a 2nd time. I also fan water them from top soil level &, either just prior to a rain shower or smack in the middle of its beginning…..I poke holes as deep as the soil permits in various spots around my garden. Plants love rainwater and I want to be certain I've done all I can to help them enjoy it. Cheers, ~ Covah

The temperatures here in the summer are between 90 to100 degrees, how often should I water my beds?
2003 we will us straw to our garden as we already have plenty of compost! But not mulch!!

Jeff, I have a question, how do you get your straw mulch cutup so small and fine, could you please explain.
I add clay soil to my compost pile for better moisture and nutrient retention.
What’s your thought of biochar adding to your soil for water retention and nutrition holding power.
