I really cant understand why these are illegal in some states. Maybe its because if everyone does this, lots of rainwater can get out of circulation for quite some time, but that could be solved by limiting the size and quantity of containers.
Unfortunately in too many places some geniuses have decided to make it illegal to collect more than a few gallons of rainwater on your property. Why who knows. It's on your property it should be yours. Regardless of droughts, or whatever.
Measure the square footage of the collection area (for example a roof that is 30 feet wide x 50 feet long = 1500 ft2) Multiply the area by the amount of rain in inches Multiply that number by 0.623 (that is the quantity of water in gallons one inch deep in one square foot of space)
2 questions…. So the first flush filter fills up then overflows to the other pipe? How does this water not contaminate the clean water? Second question, if the water goes underground will it go up into the top part of the pipe on its own? With no pump? Sorry if im not wording ny questions right i hope it can be understood. Can someone explain?
I have 8 acres and limited water, I am looking at ideas like this. Tell me more….
Hi, what was the out of pocket cost to install?

Colorado: "we don't do that here"
I don't know if you have read lately about Rainwater, it has been reported by scientists that is not safe to drink anymore!!!
Wow!!!! Genius
I wish I could do that but in Colorado we're only allowed at most 2 55 gallon rain barrels.
That's cool! I wonder how much water you got these past weeks with the little rain we got here in SD
pretty cool. where is it illegal to catch rai. water?
Good short! I couldn't figure out how you were filling the big tank, until you mentioned the underground pipe.
That is so cool!

Do you have an in depth video on this? I want to build a similar setup for my home.
It's not illegal yet. You do live in the land of stupidity…

Its illegal in Ga so we were told

This is so cool! I could absolutely do this on a smaller scale.
That’s awesome!

Yes, we had one
Great water solution. Can you elaborate on whether/what kind of pump you are using to get that great water pressure out of your hose?
Check your state/country’s laws if it’s legal in your area or not.
Why would it be illegal?
I wish good job at the gardening
I love the idea
now if we could just get all houses and apt. buildings to do this.
