This medication shortage goes back to, along with most things that used to be produced in the USA, NAFTA! Our government decided to focus on making WAR MACHINES, and let our life-saving medications go to other countries, mainly China!

Had to laugh at this memory. My mother was determined not to have hard liquor in our house. One day we had a very sick baby foal and the vet said to give it a shot glass of whiskey every few hours until it got up to nurse. Image her going into the local liquor store and explaining to the clerk as to why she was there. She was so embarrassed but we do anything for our livestock.
Walmart in Sandpoint Idaho OTC department is looking a little thin on cold medicine, and pain relievers. The shelves aren't packed full like previously. There will be 2-4 items now.

I have water barrels full from the rainy season here. It's barely gonna rain until April here and that might be a few inches total. It's still low 80's daytime, low 60's at night. Stuff still growing like peppers and sweet potatoes. So, I ain't complaining. We will take full advantage of the mild winter and prep more. Still trying to replant after Hurricane Ian wiped out most of the raised beds.
Shortages of anything here in Englewood, FL are still blamed on Ian. Wish that was the case!

I spent today identifying medicinal herbs in my yard: wild lettuce and chicory. Both of those will be helpful as tincture. And best with vodka.
We have massive OTC medications shortages here in WA state. I've had multiple friends unable to find meds for their little kids. I have offered some of my stock to those who are completely unable to find. I have also broken my rule about talking about stocking up to tell people to get their kids meds NOW rather than when they need it. Also, wait times in the ER and urgent cares are massive (we are talking 7-10 hours even for tiny little newborns if they will even keep you to wait) and had a friend who had to drive to multiple cities to get her son's amoxicillin prescription. Working on the hubby to get a Jase or similar kit for just in case!
Attended a Christmas show last night that was packed last year even in 2021 with coming back from co vd ….this year it was half empty to my astonishment
In Utah, a neighbors daughter had an ear infection just a few days ago. She had to drive to 17!!! Pharmacies before she found one 40 minutes from our house that had 1 single prescription left of antibiotics for her.
Took me 2 months to find the cough syrup I always keep in my house for winter luckly I did find generic
The grandkids were nice enough to share their cold with Nana over Thanksgiving! I was not able to shake it. Started going into a secondary sinus infection. Bumped up the vitamin C, D3 to 10,000ius, made Pataras cough syrup and started on my honey and garlic ferment! Lost a full week since I was traveling and not able to get home for my "stash of goodies "! Thank God for my online "Prepping Family "!
Wow i just read Matthew ch 24 and 25 which refers to preparing stocking up food and supplies and telling others yet if they don’t heed the warning to prepare they will indeed be left behind. Sad but true we are supposed to prepare. Also saying we must provide for our families not dwindle it on those who failed to listen and prepare. This is resonating strongly for me to keep preparing and dont stop. Make sure nothing is overlooked. If you have a lamp get the oil or batteries etc.
If the US can ramp up production for the Covid vaccines, there is no excuse for having antibiotics in shortage.

You have to be smart people…..my family dumb as a pail of manure too.
