We live in the mountains surrounded by lots of 200ft trees so my husband built me a heavy duty sled base that my small greenhouse (8*10) sits on and we pull it to different locations on the property depending on time of year to maximize sunlight and the colder /warmer microclimates that we have here, some spots are as much as 15° colder all year.
I do have a question. I have 4 acres and I have a nice flat area even though the rest of my property is on a hill. The problem is if I were to put a greenhouse going east west we have very heavy winds that run the opposite direction and I'm concerned that the unless we really do a strong greenhouse it would not survive the wind. Any suggestions? Thank you. And I always love garden quickies!
I love your stable greenhouse! I have wanted one but unsure how to go about it. Did you build yours yourself or have it built? I love it! I would have never thought about the placement. That is why I come to your channel. You are great at giving me new things to think about. We are having a goat shed and yard built out behind the chicken yard, and that was the first time I thought about morning sun being great for them, especially on cold days. So I want the front side facing the morning sun and then the hot afternoon side will be at the back and shade will be in the yard from the structure. Thanks again!

What do you recommend for shelving? Metal, composite or painted wood. Is rock flooring the best or cement?

Jeff could you talk more about greenhouses… I know they need fans for air circulation or do they always? I would like to put a small one next to my house but not sure of all the types and problems to avoid, etc. We have a metal carport and I would love ideas how to convert the long side into a narrow long greenhouse since we already have this structure…. dont know what to close it in with or how to put fans there but it is oriented south facing going e to w so it seems perfect. If we close in the long side we will still have the other half of it for my husbands tools, etc…

Good morning Jeff. I have been watching your videos and I plan to put in more veg beds. I am in the process of purchasing some shop lights but there are so many out there. I have come across a shop light that gives out 6300 L 6500K which sounds great. It is a t8 tube 48 watt but it says the output is cool white. I remember years ago having to use a cool and a warm light to balance out the spectrum. I know tubes have changed through the years and am concerned about this “ cool white” word. If the K’s are that high though I’m thinking that makes the cool white irrelevant. Or should I keep shopping? Help
