  1. I love it!! I do a modified Ruth Stout also. I add the leaves into my growing mounds.I go around my neighborhood and take bags of leaves left for the trash to pick up. I use straw instead of hay. I also add Goat poo- which I have found to be brown gold!! Sometimes I just lay a mound of Goat poo and plant in that. My squash was unbelievable with this Goat poo mound method last year. What I especially like about learning this permaculture Ruth Stout method is that it really blocks out the Bermuda grass which is the devil around here. If a sprig of Bermuda does make it to the top of the growing layers, it can be easily pulled up because it can't make itself twisted and glued in to the area-the way it does into plain soil.

  2. hey guys, just stumbled upon this video in my recommended list. Good job! If you have follow-up videos, you may want to put the link in the description or as a button in the video itself. This might generate even more clicks 😉 keep up the good work!

  3. I didn't use enough hay. So my soil is still clay-y. Gonna have to either raise the beds or go to soil bag gardening in order to use my large plot.

  4. Trying this method with Elephant Garlic. Planted them last November 5th, 2018. It is May 21st and they are almost 22 inches tall . Potatoes are huge too and were planted in April 4th this year , 2019. So far , so good. Just palnted a single Lemongrass plant that was already about 18 inches tall. In a short time ..it has become the "Queen " of the Garden Growing and spreading fast !
