You are correct that God created the seventh day Sabbath, not because He needed to rest, but " Man was made for the Sabbath & not man for the the Sabbath. The Son of God is Lord of the Sabbath." A gift from God, just like the earth, the garden of Eden were a gift from God. Love your thoughts!

I'm watching your devotionals in reverse chronological order. I'm a believer but not super religious, church going, etc. However, I really enjoy your devotionals. I think the way you explain things and in all of your videos are not condemning but just inspirational, informational, and they are fun/interesting/relatable. I have never intentionally bought a devotional book (does chicken noodle soup for the soul count? haha!) but I look forward to yours. Now, the real reason for writing this, you said you felt like you were supposed to be doing this and that god was calling people to the garden. It is very interesting what happens in the next two devotionals, the change in the world, the massive expansion of your channel, the new learners, and the gardening boom. 🙂 You are doing what you are meant to be doing. You are not understanding the scriptures and are romanticizing Jesus in a way that you shouldn't through a wrong doctrine many Christians follow after. The children of God are the daughters of Jerusalem written of in Song of Soloman, which are also written of as the children of the bridechamber. The one that God is seeking is the New Jerusalem. The children of the bridechamber (Matthew 9:15) are the children of God (of the Father and Jesus his express image). The children are each something beautiful that makes up the garden that is within the New Jerusalem. They (you) are not the New Jerusalem.

You have enriched my mindset and heart space so much in this last week. I am truly blessed by your videos to bring me back to where I was in 2010 spiritually. The garden was my refuge and my prayer space. Im working on making it that way again. God bless you abundantly.

Jess, it is almost two years later. So much has happened in those 24 months. Yes, people are going to the garden just as you thought. Gods purpose for your channel is clear to me. To prepare people to provide for themselves. But its more. To draw near to the heart of the Gardener. I'm so proud of you for sticking with it. What you do in making videos is hard, time consuming and vulnerable. And look how God is blessing you and your sweet Miah and your kiddos and your siblings and your friends. When YouTube first started I couldn't envision any good purpose for it. It seemed so useless. But now. I admit being so wrong. Such incredible good has come from this platform. Especially in a year we could never have predicted. In a year of isolation and fear people could hop on and see food being grown and children being loved and a marriage going through good and hard times and standing strong. Stay close to the heart of the Father. The distractions are going to come. Stand against them. Continue to be true to yourself. I just watched the video where you mentioned the tv show you are taking part in. I am always impressed with your thought process in decision making. The only negative comment I could make about your videos is the darn yucky ads that come on every once in a while. A TV show with no yucky ads? Sign me up!! So a few tips for the next 6 months: drink plenty of water (coffee doesn't count), remember to laugh on purpose, take time to play (the to-do list will never go away), expect something to go wrong in the move and know that His grace is sufficient for you, (as He has clearly demonstrated so far :^)). Be nice to yourself when the days are hard and you are weary. Ask for help before you need to.
