In this video, I outline 7 key weekly habits that I am going to use this growing season to make sure everything stays in control so I then have more time to relax and enjoy the garden because it is my escape from a busy world. I will also share why it is so important to think and create your own gardening habits and give you some ideas on how to start and how to make habits stick.

Thank you. I’ll be more consistent with the weeding. In my do list I mention ‘gardening’ but never thought about memos on my calendar. I will not forget my initial goal to have fun and relax with plants, I have been stress out with the watering, weeding. I’ll watch again the video, excellent tips, thanks.
Is it too late to move soft fruit bushes?
Hello Huw, Llandeilo and District Gardening Club here. Just checking that you received my emails about cancellation of April meeting. Can't find a phone number, trying all other possible channels!
I'm excited waiting for the book. I imagine your book will be full of ideas, well edited step y step explanation and warmth hearted like the author.
One tip for you huw now i bet you havent heard it it was from my grandad when youve chitted your potatoes instead of planting eyes up plant eyes down this will increase your yield now you know more than i but i think its because the potatoe has to work harder to get to the surface
When i was a kid we lived in abingdon we now live in darwen lancs but when we live down abingdon we had a huge back garden so one year my grandad who had a large allotment showed us how to grow spuds heck he said well plant eyes down when we came to harvest the potatoes we had near a tonne and a half they were in a huge pile we gave them to neighbors all round
I miss my grandad his gardening knowledge was amazing
If you get chance to try a few potatoes this way id b chuffed to see how you get on
Also if any of your subscribers would like to try a few this way first and let me know how you ger on
Ive used it and its great
This is first time ive come across you huw your a very intresting chap cheers.adrian
bear grylls of gardening
Thank you for the weekly habit tips. I like habit #1 picking up things and keeping your garden tidy… actually all 7 habit tips make sense. I’ll start with the easy ones first, the 5 minute jobs.
Let me collect my rain water, so I can put in my garden.
Thanks, Huw! Very helpful. I appreciate your help.
Dream garden vision , the Journaling , of new habits to forward the vision . this video 1000 points.Awesome
One of my habits is to spend time relaxing inside the greenhouse.. this centres me back in the pleasurable nature of watching things grow so slowly and eases any feelings of overwhelm and confusion that start creeping in. It also gives me time to look at each plant or seedling to see how they are fairing, if they are looking a bit sad or dry or whether there’s anything growing on my plants or soil that I hadn’t noticed when wizzing around planting.
Love you VDO … Thank you~
1. 5 minute tidy up, keep things clean
2. Look at your planting plan/ calendar (see Huw’s video on monthly planning)
3. Spend half-an-hour reading gardening books and make notes (read Huw’s new book first)
4. Conduct a plant health check, look under leaves.
5. Always celebrate successes, including steps in the right direction.
6. Continue adding to your compost bin.
7. Do a quick round of weeding especially when they are still small.
Create your own habits, start small, perhaps start with one habit first. Be specific and set a clear intentions for your new habits.
once a week, tidy up bits. monthly plan. half an hour on gardening books, note tips and ideas. plant health check, check under leaves. Celebrate successes. Add to the compost heap. hoe up weeds while they are small. Succession sowing. make your own habits. there is my summary, for me :).
Hi! I fundo your vídeos a life organizer! It calms me down. One question : How do go about to keep the garden routine when you get sick? How long does a garden "wait"?

Love your videos. Planning monthly has helped so much . Thanks
My daily garden habit is I plant something every day… I'll propogate, divide, pot up or sow seeds. I live in Australia and feel lucky as I can garden all year round.
