VIDEO: Drip Irrigation System – Tomato Bucket System

In this video I show you how I set up the drip irrigation in the tomato bucket garden. Irrigation setup really is a simple process when you do a little homework. It’s really worth the effort and saves time and water and really provides peace of mind. Thanks for watching!

  1. Oppe – My tomato plants are about your same size (weird weather this year). I like your manner at putting people at ease with trying drip irrigation. I use drip irrigation for my pots only. My plot is so small that I only use soaker hoses and hand watering. I will be using more of it in AZ. I can tell you think driveways are over rated too!

  2. I've never used drip irrigation. The setup looks really straight-forward and foolproof, and being a gadget man, I kinda want to try it some day. Great explanation Opie!

  3. Awesome setup you have there Oppe. We are actually putting one together this week. I noticed I need to add more things to make it complete like the automatic timer. I just have not found the perfect one I want just yet so I just might connect it to the faucet until I find the right one. Funny thing is I have had this drip irrigation system for about a year now. lol

    Thanks for sharing.

  4. Nice video, thank you for sharing you experience. I was wondering about what you have found through trial and error is the most appropriate automatic watering timer duration and interval to use in a set up like you have for tomatoes in 5 gallon buckets during hotter weather dry summer months? Something like every day in the morning for 15 minutes? thanks
