The best gardening & homesteading channels on Youtube
@squidgybidge thanks 🙂
blows all the theory of learnt horticulture out the door. top of cutting cut at an angle bottom of cutting straight. damn, that's about 100,000 cuttings I've done wrong in the last 50 years. It's an old nursery tip so you remember which end goes in the ground. Can't make a lot of difference as 99% if mine struck.
@aajlrrecruit they are so hardy they will struck in any way, I once placed a four year old blackcurrant stem (from a pruning) into the ground and it's grown to be a healthy bush
Well I got 55 cuttings from just one bush and that's how amazing it is! Thanks
Well I'll make a video of how to prune the bushes but in this video it show you everything else, Thanks!!
Use last years wood and the year before with only this years wood at the top of the cutting! Thanks
Okay thanks 🙂
Just subscribed to your channel so I don't miss anything!
How long does it take to start getting fruits from the cuttings?
About 3 years, thanks
hello! i've really been enjoying your videos!
i have a question as to your opinion on the time of year it would be best to take the cuttings. i live in canada and due to that our ground is quite frozen until april or may. would you suggest taking my cuttings just as the buds are starting on the bush or should i do it before then?
thank you!
Hey do it just before the buds open. Thanks
hi! thanks!
i just followed your advice today and i'll let you know how it turns out.

Just a year and uproot them in the late winter/early spring to transplant, thanks 🙂
Is there a specific time of year to do this? and what is the best time of year to do it in?
Video was uploaded in October, is that the best time to do this? Fall or Spring, or both???
Brilliant(have subscribed). Is it best to have them in the shade and any particular soil? Do you put sand in the bottom?
I know this video is old now but it's nice to see another young person with such a keen interest in horticulture
I’ve found your video very helpful, a really good presentation of both you and what to do. I’m going to do my cuttings tomorrow (31st March) , I may be a bit late! I want to plant them in pots. Do you think they will take in a pot & What pot size would you suggest to start them in? Thanks for any advice.
