I really love the scapes. Great to add to salads and soups and stir fries. I have a 4×4 bed that has Thyme and Parsley . I let the Parsley go to seed. Raise it mainly for the bugs and birds.

Garlic seeds that have had the roots cut off are from outside the US because of fungus.
So if they have the roots attached they are grown in the US.

Hi James, I’m in Florida zone 9b and you said garlic likes cold weather. I just received my new order of garlic today, getting ready to plant. It’s hot here and doesn’t reach cold nights very often only a few days a year. Any suggestions??

James, where would you suggest purchasing garlic from?
I love your videos . What are your thoughts about growing garlic in containers outside in winter in north Jersey . I thought I would put the containers in the ground so that the bulbs are about 4" below the soil . I could cover them with mulch or straw. Around April I would take the pails out of the ground . This is a measure to save space . Do you know if this has been done successfully ? Would April be too soon . I live in zone 6A . Thanks Art

Great garlic session. Thank you. I'm up in the greater Ottawa area. Zone 4. My hard neck, 'Music', if dried well for 5-6 weeks, keeps until July of the following season as long as it is
stored at room temperature in paper bags and in the dark. It is wonderful stuff; 4-6 cloves per head. It goes in Oct. 20th, top knuckle deep, in compost, topped with leaf mulch. A-1.
if you grow garlic every year, why don't you use your own as your seed?
I do my "gardening" in containers, so I am concerned that the winter would freeze them solid, and I would have nothing next spring!
