  1. I'm amazed at the lack of respect this generation had for previous generations. If the farmer gave his word it ment something. Now days people's word means nothing.

  2. The larger the tree, the deeper the roots go into the soil pulling up minerals that are deficient in soil today. So using wood ash in your beds provides balanced minerals, too.

  3. So in laymans terms, start out by making your soil acidic and keep it that way for the vigorous foliage and vine growth and then when they are looking really good and heading towards maturity cut that process out and let the soil go to neutral and then start adding potash to swing it to a more alkaline setting for the flowering process until the fruit is ripe. I have a strange feeling all plants would do well with this system.

  4. I dont think I did it that way and I didnt know for sure whether it was good or bad to do but I had a hunch ashes might be nutritious and I did work it into my tomato soil. They were thriving beautifully but I'm starting to wonder if I'm missing something because they dont look as healthy as before. Lots of fruit, foliage turning yellow and dying..
