How do you deter squirrels from digging even on raised beds? They are digging holes all around my tomato plants.

We had a small peach tree we got one peach off, told ourselves we would harvest tomorrow and they we ALL gone overnight.

Thanks! I was thinking about starting a "No Dig" bed, but after I encountered an outbreak of earwigs (who love cardboard), and then watching your video, I decided to change up what I was putting IN my raised beds to see if I could "shake things up" a little. Does anybody need some cardboard? 😀
I enjoy planting in raised beds. I feel it looks cleaner and gives a relaxed feeling to the garden. I also grow pumpkins and don’t like them growing along the ground. Raised beds help keep them contained so I can plant more in my small space.
I'm sure you could find some inexpensive feed for chipmunks and squirrels at the feed store.
The only problem is you use pressure treated wood to build you raised beds, Pressure treated wood has toxic chemicals. I haven't found a clean and cheap solution for this yet.

James you’re so right about things being easier in raised beds and you don’t have to buy beds in I’ve got about 10 raised bed some are old bath tubs I’ve scrounged and old IBCs cut in half. The rest I built myself out of colour bond that I scrounged so the only cost was a bit of hardware they don’t look flash but they still grow great veggies. Lmfdo
James whenever you're ready to move let us know me and my colleague watch you all the time. I believe you need to be in a warmer climate lol so you can have a longer growing season!

Really enjoyed the video. I've spent 7 years doing the BTE method. Especially since we rent, I didn't want to spend $$ putting in raised beds on a property we don't own.
I love the raised bed concept though, especially since I deal with quack grass, trumpet vines, and deadly nightshade vines. Very difficult to keep out of the in ground garden areas.

I don't have a forest, just a deck filled with grow bags, pots and I'm now looking in to the metal 'Birdies' beds you talked about. The dimensions are so versatile and can be modified around my deck shape. Thanks for that.

I have impossibly hard compacted clay that does not allow water infiltration nor roots.
What size bed can I build for fruit or pecan trees?
