My husband wasn’t used to home grown and when I planted, dried and gathered the kernels he refused to eat them. So I finally popped a big bowl up for me and he took it over!

UltraVIOLET or Close-To-Blue light is what you've likely discovered, Blue-Violet = similar spectrum of wave frequency (~440nanometres 440nanometers unless I am recalling incorrectly and thinking of Infra-Red instead). Ever notice those Blue-White LEDs or the LED-White color is so much Brighter than most lights is a similar concept the phosphorus property reflects the UV light more which needs be filtered in most CFL bulbs burning plasma contained. White will seem lightest from a close-to-UV source, aka something which reflects ultra-purple the best, aka your awesome corn 🙂
