  1. Thanks for the info! I have one that calls out like that (smaller one) and another one (larger in size or fatter) that sounds more like a chicken chick. Now I know its the male thats calling!

  2. We love our quail here in the Sonoran desert. When free in their natural habitat, they're coos and calls are to behold. So beautiful!! It's their world; we just get to live in it. As for eating them? Well, not as long as Chicken is available at your local source. Love the footage!

  3. I have no idea about quails. Im trying to get answers from youtube since my so called uncle got like 30-ish of them, and i wanna know why they are very noisy at night, in the morning they sound kinda neutral but at night its like a quail inside a cave crowing and a lot of echo follows. I mean what is that about anyway?

  4. If you want to annoy the neighbors, breed a: (Peafowl x (Guinea Fowl x LongCrower Chicken)) and you will get a sterile bird that sounds like Jim Carrey impersonating the most annoying sound in the world. I call it the "Triple A Chook". It stands for: Annoying, Annoying, Annoying (AAA).

  5. I bought 4 quail for eggs around 6-7 months ago. Only yesterday I heard one of them crow for the first time.. can't bring myself to butcher him as I'm a bit attached now. Was wondering why I was getting only 3 eggs a day. Will be picking up another 2 females in a few days. He's a lucky quail 😛 Are quail difficult to sex when they're young? say around 6-8 weeks old?

  6. Sounds better than the pesky Indian minors that are terrorising our Australian native birds. Even the local council is trying to do something about these bloody invaders by loaning out cages for people to capture them. Not sure what they do with them. Ironically I live in a neighbourhood full of Indians because there’s a Sikh temple near by and all my Indian neighbors have outdoor kitchens where they cook their food for their restaurants.
It’s not allowed as council deems it unhygienic practice but don’t do anything to stop it. Anyway, the Indians throw out crumbs for them, encouraging them to breed like rabbits. I’m not being racist, I’m just saying that I’m thinking about getting a quail pen as I love quail eggs and doubt I’ll get any complaints because it seems anything goes around here, besides the Indians make all sorts of loud sounds at ungodly hours out of their outdoor kitchen so I believe I’m safe! I’m in Brisbane in case you’re wondering.

  7. I'm planning on raising some quails most for their eggs but I'm worried about stressing them with sound since I work with knife Making. How much noise is too much? I don't have electric tools on 24/7 but let's say once a day I will make 20 minutes of intense noise and about two to three times a day my dogs will bark for 1 minute. Is that enough to stress them?

  8. The Male Quail i have do sing out but they sound very much like other birds in the wild, in Australia you are able to keep both female and male quail, if they do cause noise build a hatch inside your garage (making sure that it dosn't over heat) and just keep your breeding flock in there and keep your egg layers in a aviary outside.

  9. Please don't buy quails if you have neighbours, my neighbour has one and it makes every summer hell, windows closed to hot windows open, it screetches the ENTIRE night every 10 sec every single day (even windows closed I hear it)

    Seriously, i'm here because i haven't slept in days…

Gonna try to talk go them or go to the cops i can't take this anymore….

THE ENTIRE NIGHT, every damn year

  10. This is just superb, I been tryin to find out about "raising quail to eat" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of – Eeyila Rudimentary Expediency – (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a smashing exclusive product for discovering how to raise healthy and fertile quail minus the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my colleague got excellent success with it.

  11. They make much less noise than a rooster or chickens, and make normal bird sounds that are everywhere so I wouldn't think it could cause such an issue but there is a Karen on every block.

  12. Do you sell quail eggs on ebay ? Because I got scamed and the eggs weren't fertal and your youtube thumbnail is the exact photo they used on eBay…..
