VIDEO: Space Saving Low Budget Vertical Food Garden on Water Tank

Here’s a low budget way to grow herbs and other plants on a water tank. Often the sides of water tanks are left empty but I reckon we should put the vertical space to use and turn it into a living grow wall! Blog: http://www.selfsufficientme.com/

  1. I thought we said no more surprises !! Ha ha ! Are you not on mains water then Mark ?? Please excuse my northern English ignorance but where does the water in the tank come from ?? Rain ?? And is that your only source of water ? Is it your every day water ?? Great use of what would be unused space !! I'm liking all these growing videos !!

  2. What a clever arrangement!  It turns that water tank into something even more "green".  It is interesting – I haven't seen water tanks like those before in the U.S.  We could have them – I just haven't seen them here in the Eastern states – mostly where I have traveled.  I was just watching a video on YouTube yesterday about growing pumpkins vertically – it is fascinating – the gardener mentioned a book called "The Square Foot Garden or Gardener".  I have heard of it – I just haven't gotten around to purchasing it.  I really like the idea of vertical gardening!  And I meant to also say – for your last video – I liked that rooster that you showed at the beginning & I saw a glimpse of your dog – looks nice too.  Sorry to hear that those Cane Toads are still a problem!  Hope they find a solution!  They look gigantic!  In the land "Down Under" or "On Top" – (depends on how you look at it) 🙂 you all put up with a lot!  Poisonous snakes, spiders, and everything looks so huge – but you all still persevere!  I take my hat off to you all for sure!

  3. Ian Knockton suggested you, I'm glad he did, I love his videos and thought if he said he likes you then you must be worth watching! Nice use of space on the water tank and I love how you set it up!!
