For someone like me who doesn't know what they are doing, I've found that is a common mistake I tend to make, that or overcompensating. Just haven't gotten it right, but maybe if I keep trying I will. Takes a Big Man to admit his mistakes. Thanks for the honesty.
Hope I never stop making mistakes. Just the thought of not being able to learn anything more, would destroy my life. Failures are the best teachers. ๐
Yes you did not account for the wood thickness.
Measure twice, cut once, assemble wrong, curse and yell, throw the project on the burn pile, go have a cup of coffee or tea, then repeat. Yup – that's me in the workshop. Proves that your human too.

So nice to see someone admit they made a mistake. You make a great human being, Jay, but would make a lousy politician. Seriously, I do admire that trait.
