VIDEO: A little of the Harvest

Just a little of what have harvested this year. Had many set backs but have learned from them. Planning now so that next year will be better. Thanks to Rob Bob for the Aztec corn and Spaghetti squash seeds and Southpaw Davey for the Goji berries.

  1. winter squash ie the Butternut and Acorn styles there are about 50 of them are in the same family that pumpkin is in. They do make great pies and pastries also soups.

  2. The corn looks OUTSTANDING.  Keep us posted on the corn harvest. It looks like you had a nice Summer veggie harvest. Wow you have a lot put up. Great job, well done. Do you 'can' in used (saved) jars?  How does that work, not using canning jars?

  3. I understand about the language barrier, I'm French Canadian and often struggle making videos! I still think you explained it very well anyway, we all need each other, we can't be good at every thing, rebuilding community is key. I'll check Luke's video.
What a beautiful array of preserve you have! And yes, I lacto-fermented jalapenos 2 years ago and they were hotter after fermenting than before!!!

  4. Harvest wow. Your gojis look fantastic mine got blighted but I am sure they will bounce back. That corn is amazing I will try that planting method next year. I know what you mean with the language thing I can not remember some stuff in English sometimes. I spoke Spanish for a long time throw that in to the mix and it gets messy lol.
    Nice update.

  5. I am fermenting hot peppers, and started the lacto-fermentation with yogurt. Have you tried this or do you expose yours to natural biotics? Also do you add vinegar at the end? Dried pears are like candy, and dried ground cherries are good too.

  6. I've never seen so many ears on a stalk. Must be me. One maybe two ears max. They are too tall too I think that's part of it. Great harvest! I think they are hotter too. Love your channel

  7. Great harvest!  It's always an encouragement when you tally up what was grown,  even though there are always those things that just don't make it.  On another note-  I understand what your saying in your videos and I'm sure many more do as well 🙂

  8. Have sat down to watch this & a few other clips 3 times this week only to be side tracked, sorry Jay..  That corn looked very impressive & hope some cobs set before it's too late..
Some great looking harvests there.. We still have 2 spaghetti squash from the start of the year set aside.. Have left them to see how long they will last before they become chook food..
That yackon could be harvested now by the look of it.. We started to bandicoot tubers out as soon as the leaves started to look a bit sad.. I figured most of the plants growing had been done 😉
Cheers mate & all the best to the family..
