  1. Ones need to find the niches to create their own business (self proprietorship); and minimum wage is the past problem. Yet, all across the nation, we must stand up for MIX USE ZONING TO BE REINSTATED, which allows a home business, like America used to be. To get a county/city license to operate, and be able to put up a small sign, the property has to be commercial or mix use. It is a county, state, and federal issue; as all done their part to take away this most constitutional, basic economic right; as the majority cannot afford a second location to rent/buy for business. Martha Steward had to have mix use to start. It is common sense and need. Areas would not be plighted, but go back to cute, unique, diverse thriving areas of many different small home businesses, and  more community pride, involvement, less crime, and less poverty. NOt even Veterans can do home business on the homes they get with federal/state/city veteran loans, nor can one even do biz on a rural home loan. That is listed on the FIRST PAGE OF the loans.

  2. Great bike/cart set up. I so want one. Someone should make these and cost effective, so ones can buy. Wish we still had wagon/bike/horse lanes on the streets, vendors, small home business. America would be so much better. Any leads on where to buy some good, cheap land, and the factors to look into to make sure one has a good, safe piece of property? Love your vids and your drive!!!

  3. Anyone want to go in on some property? I'm looking for some land to work and start a new life near Bradenton Florida.. I take care of my mom and and going broke  paying for healthy food.. I could grow moringa and dry and ship.. I have a grass fed cow manure source. I want to create a food forest and wildlife haven for all walks of life and me and my girlfriend. Myakka Florida has cheap land.. I run a moving company and require a high level of health to sustain my life and my mom.. Any advise would be greatly appreciated…

  4. Hey Curtis, why not bulk selling to PRODUCE / FRUIT AND VEGGIE corner stores? Wouldn't this be more efficient than doing the middle man work? It's all about being efficiency and your time. If you can sell all of your produce to those FRUIT and VEGGIE PRODUCE markets… and save 1/2 your time (the time you would have spent MARKETING VEGGIE BASKETS and FARMERS MARKETS), then it's okay if you sell your PRODUCE for 1/2 of its market value. What are your thoughts on this?

Hi Curtis!  I live close to you (in Vernon) and am looking to start a microgreen business.  Our local farmers market has microgreens classified as "high risk" so we can not sell them as microgreens.  Any suggestions?  I was hoping to get some feedback from the market customers before approaching restaurants.  Thank you for your help!  I love your videos!

  6. Awesome advice Curtis thanks for your time. I'm in France and the markets here are overflowing with veg. hard to see where there is a niche for new veg. But I guess looking for some kind of unusual salads may be the key and encouraging restaurants to buy locally?

  7. What do you do to "turn the beds over"? Is that changing the fruits or vegetables to something different? Sorry I know nothing about it but I really really want to start doing this!!!!

  8. I own one acre of land, and since I am new to farming, I only plan to start by planting on a quarter of an acre. My question is: since I own the land and the soil seems to be not very fertile underneath the grass and weeds that I am tilling up…..should I consider using raised beds?

  11. What flowering/fruiting crops are high value and quick turn around? Can't grow leafy greens or root veggies on the 1/4 acre I have access to currently…

  12. Thanks for all the information. I stumbled across your series after moving to a house that had an overgrown garden with it all mapped out. Winter crop bedded, grape vines pruned, fruit trees pruned and fertilised. I lit a candle for the Italian man who worked the soil for 50+ years and undid the neglect it has had for past two. The farmers market might be a great idea after I streamline my learn as I go technique. Kudos for taking it where you have, each bead of sweat rolls off with a smile!

  13. Hey Curtis (or anyone!) Where I can get specific trays for Micro Greens ?!?
    (like the aprox. 1.5" depth I see Curtis using) ? Preferably from a company in BC, definitely from a company in Canada…

    I ordered thru "West coast Seeds" and got trays too deep AND you have to "drill your own holes" WTF!?!
    Then I ordered micro green seeds from DAMSEEDS. Damseeds web site is awkward to navigate. Their ( Damseeds ) email says "We do not sell micro-green specific trays at this point but it is something we will research this summer." WTF !?!

    Where I can get Micro Green specific trays ?!?

  14. Subscribed. I am moving with my fiance to a new property at then end of October and there is a piece of land maybe about a 1/4 acre big. We live in North West province in South Africa. This is the climate … Temperatures range from 17° to 31 °C (62° to 88 °F) in the summer and from 3° to 21 °C (37° to 70 °F) in the winter. Annual rainfall totals about 360 mm (about 14 in), with almost all of it falling during the summer months, between October and April. Can you maybe tell me what types of vegetable I can plant for this climate. Also what is your books name as I want to purchase it? Thank you Curtis.

  15. really want to start my own & looking into this, but I only currently have access to about 1.5 of your catapillar greenhouse in land. I look at it as a good starting point for myself, but not too sure if I would get a good yeald in greens, any tips?

  17. Thanks for this video Curtis! I've been growing in my backyard for almost four years now and so far I've been sharing any abundant food with family and friends. Now I feel confident about market farming in a larger space and I've actually been considering buying just over a quarter acre land which would also include my house and other smaller buildings. Been working on my spreadsheets to try and cover my bases before I take the leap. Your tips in this video are a huge help.

  18. I have a small experimental operation going on that I can scale up easily as per demand, but.. I don't know how to sell. Most of the distributors I contacted don't respond, even though it's the hottest selling herb (sweet basil) that I grow in the winter when market supply is low. What to do?
