  1. Thank you for this video! I just acquired my first flock, (4 babies), two days ago and I noticed one had this going on. I just got her bathed and put a little olive oil on there until I could get some Vaseline. She’s doing great! Ordered the probiotics and whatnot as well!

  2. Ooooweee I shouldn't have listened about the cornmeal. lol. I was like what are my silkies screaming about? It sounds like a brawl. I go to look in the brooder and I see one standing in the dish of cornmeal pecking and screaming at the other 9 chicks that come to try and eat. Lol. I just sprinkled it everywhere and stuck my tongue out at him and said "now everybody gets some. Go to bed" I swear his little fat cheeks pouted at me.

  3. We just got our very first chicks YESTERDAY. Sadly, one has leeway one down with pasty butt. Your video was so helpful! Thank you! I’m hoping I’ve remedied her issue.

  4. Super helpful. Thank you! I started keeping chickens last year and just got four new chicks to add to the flock, and on the second day I noticed one had Pasty Butt. Your method works really well and I appreciate the clarity with which you explained and demonstrated it.

  5. Thank you Patara. We just did all of this w/ our new baby chicks (Buff Orpingtons). We are first timers (although I'ved watch you for years). Current circumstances called for a kick up on our "someday" plans. Grateful we have the land and are agriculturally zoned. Grateful for you that we can find the help we need.
    God Bless

  6. Thank you soo much for this video. i just got 8 new chicks and almost all of them had a pasty butt. so thanks to you 4 of our chicks are alive.

  7. Hi Patera, This video is some years ago, getting chicks next month. Do you still recommend cornmeal for them and when do we switch them over to the regular grit? Thanks
