Hello! Question – what do you do when your potato starts to flower?
Thank you in advance!
Nicole
Great video but I wish you could give watering tips at the end. I seen people say water daily and other every 4-5 days very confusing.
Well what about using organic potatoes that have gone to seed with eyes? I'm growing some right now. Also do they have to flower? 1st time I am growing them. That are in 7 gallon grow bags And I started them at the bottom of the bag and I kept mounding them up. I started in early May. I am in zone 5B. I guess I will wait for them to die back and hope I will get some potatoes.
I would have liked to have seen the finished produce
Just a bit of info, as far as I am aware in the U.K. we don’t spray our potato’s with root inhibitor.
we brought soil form nursery added blood meal, peat moss it's been a week now and I noticed white patches in the soil what went wrong, Afraid to plant anything it might not make it. can you help?
Why are all YouTube garden videos crappy suburban raised bed or bucket "gardens"? I'm trying to see a real garden in the actual ground.
Hi how often do you recommend watering potatoes
Great info, thanks! I have something going on with my potatoes that I’ve never heard of before. Maybe you can help. I have a new no-dig bed with 4.5” municipal compost on the bottom and 4.5” of bagged forest compost on top. Very high temps last week (for us anyway) which they tolerated well. A ton of moisture retention so only had to water (deeply) every other day. Buds set 3 days ago. Now there are new vigorous shoots near my strongest plants! Any ideas? TIA.
I planted potatoes for the first time this year, but I didn’t know about adding sulfur. It’s getting close to harvest time, is it too late to amend with sulfur?
Do you mix the bloodmeal in with your soil?

Are potato plants poisonous to dogs? LyNette
How many pounds of potatoes do you get from a bed that size and how many pounds did you plant
I use a Miracle Gro soil, can I still use trifecta?
@ MIgardener I live in Nashville, TN and haven’t been able to find Trifecta in my area. Is that something you order online or are you able to buy it from a local store near you? Since I haven’t been able to find it, please share the ratios needed for Blood Meal, Bone Meal, & Epson Salt should be added to potting soil?
I have found that potatoes will send out roots along their stem like a tomatoe but the roots it shoots out will not produce potatoes their like breather roots
What kind of fertilizer has a good source of sulfate and how much do you water the plants
Will try potato’s next time. First time gardener getting all the information first
Do u have a video on making lose soil
So happy I found this. I don't know if you'll see this on a video from 6 years ago or not but here goes…
I planted potatoes about 3 months ago and read lots of bad advice. I finally decided to just dig them up today and there are tons of small potatoes that have already started sprouting. Obviously we can't eat them but can we just use them as seed potatoes and start over? I'm in south Mississippi, so I've definitely still got 100 days of season left. Thanks!?
I have a question regarding defoliating potatoes. I know it can help prevent disease in many other plants, especially during very humid conditions. Is there any benefit or risk with doing some of this with potatoes??
Maybe change the title to "Complete planting guide". You covered the easy part, what about hilling, and everything else?
Thanks for making videos. This is a great channel
When do you know your potatoes are ✅ ready to harvest?
I have really small potatoes that I grew in pots. They are too small for eating and I’m wondering if I can use them as seed potatoes
You didn't mention watering
I love this idea and want to choose the perfect variety for zone 6b and something that will be ideal for being in-ground all winter. I THINK this might be the Yukon Gold but I can't find them anywhere. In fact, I can't find seed potatoes anywhere. Any suggestions for purchasing something like this which is not commonly available at this time of year? Thank you!
