  1. Great video but I wish you could give watering tips at the end. I seen people say water daily and other every 4-5 days very confusing.

  2. Well what about using organic potatoes that have gone to seed with eyes? I'm growing some right now. Also do they have to flower? 1st time I am growing them. That are in 7 gallon grow bags And I started them at the bottom of the bag and I kept mounding them up. I started in early May. I am in zone 5B. I guess I will wait for them to die back and hope I will get some potatoes.

  3. we brought soil form nursery added blood meal, peat moss it's been a week now and I noticed white patches in the soil what went wrong, Afraid to plant anything it might not make it. can you help?

  4. Great info, thanks! I have something going on with my potatoes that I’ve never heard of before. Maybe you can help. I have a new no-dig bed with 4.5” municipal compost on the bottom and 4.5” of bagged forest compost on top. Very high temps last week (for us anyway) which they tolerated well. A ton of moisture retention so only had to water (deeply) every other day. Buds set 3 days ago. Now there are new vigorous shoots near my strongest plants! Any ideas? TIA.

  5. @ MIgardener I live in Nashville, TN and haven’t been able to find Trifecta in my area. Is that something you order online or are you able to buy it from a local store near you? Since I haven’t been able to find it, please share the ratios needed for Blood Meal, Bone Meal, & Epson Salt should be added to potting soil?

  6. So happy I found this. I don't know if you'll see this on a video from 6 years ago or not but here goes…
I planted potatoes about 3 months ago and read lots of bad advice. I finally decided to just dig them up today and there are tons of small potatoes that have already started sprouting. Obviously we can't eat them but can we just use them as seed potatoes and start over? I'm in south Mississippi, so I've definitely still got 100 days of season left. Thanks!?

  7. I have a question regarding defoliating potatoes. I know it can help prevent disease in many other plants, especially during very humid conditions. Is there any benefit or risk with doing some of this with potatoes??

  8. I love this idea and want to choose the perfect variety for zone 6b and something that will be ideal for being in-ground all winter. I THINK this might be the Yukon Gold but I can't find them anywhere. In fact, I can't find seed potatoes anywhere. Any suggestions for purchasing something like this which is not commonly available at this time of year? Thank you!
