  1. Wow, I guess I’m doing everything wrong, because. I planted my raspberries and blackberries in Sandy soil. In full sun and I have great producers!!! I put cow manure on them every spring. I’ve never had sunburn or dry rot on them. They do just fantastic, and I am in northern Indiana 10 minutes from the Michigan border!

  2. I live in what is now a huge town. A suburb of DC. I don't even see natives around here anymore. But I do know where there's a huge patch of Blackberrys that have avoided progress. They're probably 70 to 80 yr old bushes. Off the beaten path now down a diverted old road. I used to eat em as a kid while playing around. Take em to a freezer for like 15 minutes to get em nice and cold. OMG! soooo good. When the apocalypse comes I know where to get some. Also, this may not be the right thing to do but I've always thought that we should randomly plant foods on offramps and medians and really un developed or marginal land. Just to have it. Peace out. ✌

  3. Hi. Anybody got some quick-tips for quickly and efficiently hand-harvesting a beautiful surprise abundance of little wild “black cap” blackberries?

Second question – the same, for raspberries with some thorns?

    Thank You.
