  1. I add Hungarian paprika and Worcestershire sauce to my goulash. That's how my mama and her mama made it. I didnte know either gma really. My last one passed when I was 5 so very little memory of her cooking. I didn't know either gpas period unfortunately.

  2. I was born an raised in South East Ky,,,spent 50yrs there now live in South East Louisiana,,,so I have been sorounded by this ki d a cooking,,,love your show keep it up

  3. We cook the elbow macaroni in our beef and tomato mixture. I usually add canned tomatoes, even better if they're home canned, tomato paste, onion, salt and pepper, and some water. You want to get it soupy enough to cook the macaroni. Dump the macaroni in, let it cook until even less cooked then Al dente and remove from heat. It will keep cooking until tender. Just let it sit for 10 minutes or so, and it will be done. You can also put a bay leaf in and then remove it when it's done.

  4. Not the Hubby or the Dear or the spouse… THE MAN This is why I love the south Mam! The respect for the roles we play in this game called life. You don't have to do it but respect it!

  5. I have been looking at recipes for tomatoes and macaroni. I guess that is the poor person's version. If you can afford meat you make goulash like this.
This is one of my favorite dishes ever!

  6. I have not cooked this in many years . Cooked it today with some cornbread . Went over great . Thanks for reminding me how good it was. This was one of my go to meals when I was low on groceries .Used macaroni to stretch meals when the kids were little .Military payed once a month. The end of the month things had to be stretch and still be good.

  7. That is an excellent recipe. Here is the version I grew up with, called "Oconto" goulash-lazy goulash. 1 lb. burger browned with onion, throw in 1 can or 1 bag frozen mixed veg, add in 1 can tomato soup, salt pepper and paprika to taste. Then add in a bunch of cooked wide egg noodles!

  8. Instead of pasta my father made it with rice and would cook the rice in with the mixture. We didn't put cheese on the top of it put it back in the oven but it was so yummy. He always fix cornbread with it and maybe green beans
