Crap with the hedge cutters. I would try and get a sh.t load of wood chips and just smother it with them. Going to be doing that with my frount gardens I can get the chips.
Glad to hear you're back to normal Jay, down in the dumps not feeling well can be a real hindrance to a person, especially since ya had set priorities with your garden, but what's in the past is past and looking forward to a BETTER year in 2017! btw, that squash haul was AWESOME, the baby dumpling squash is what you showed us, a 1/4 of the haul and you also had some hokkaido pumpkins, a couple with a cooking channel here really recommends the hokkaido for good eating and since they're vegans, for stuffing a hokkaido instead of the traditional turkey! 🙂
Good to hear you are feeling better Jay. Nice harvest of squash. Hope you can get the trimmers fixed for a reasonable price. Have a great day. Best wishes Bob.
Ooooh, something I want to try here in WA is to make a hedge out of prickly pear cactus. They are supposed to be hardy down to really cold temps, they just need good drainage. I think our climates are very similar, and with that property being on a hill, that seems like it would be aqueduct drainage. There is an idea if you are interested. (Then you could have a seemingly tropical fruit! Oh, they also taste a lot like melon. Very delicious.)
Do people rent goats in Germany? lol They would really help you if you could get a couple of the buggers in there. Take care of all those blackberrys lickety-split. Literally. Heheh.
I too ended up very sick during the summer and everything suffered because of it. I have been sick off and on since. Hopefully we both mend up before spring comes!

Great to see you feeling a well enough to get some garden therapy in Jay. Can you repair the trimmers or was the damage to bad?
Cheers mate.

Hi. New to the channel. Just looking around. I'm interested to watch the progress on the property as you make your changes.
Looks like a beautiful spot on earth!
