At what age do you think you should take the birds out of the breeder to 0ut them into their fulltime enclosure?
I'm thinking about getting quail for my backyard Suburban household to provide meat. One of my main concerns is noise. I have tried it chickens before but just having the females was too loud for my neighbors. A quail's Crow at least sounds somewhat like a normal bird call and not like a obvious farm animal.
Really good info. Thank you. I love the taste of quail grilled and broiled.
Can you multiply them without a incubator?
I just love the chickens ruining your broadcast!! Thumbs up to the chickens! 🙂
I throw my quail into the air, about 50% of the quail that fall back down are males.
I have a question:
Do i have to seperate quails that are siblings even though im not going to hatch any of their eggs?
Hey Mark, I have a question.. or better said a few questions, after watching your videos for a few weeks , I moved from a flat to a house with a rather big garden, atm is end January but I`m already getting some garden beds ready to put in the back yard ,since the house is rented and I don`t want to dig the owner`s garden. And since all your videos are not only about veggies and also about life stock I made up my mind to go for Chickens or Quails . One of my question is what would you suggest for a beginner to start with chickens or quails ? I personally find Quails way more cuter , less noisy and more manageable in a smaller pen/area. I want them mainly for eggs but it could happen that they end up once a month on a bbq . I need to keep in mind that I work close to 12h a day in two shifts, and I`m looking for bird that can do without her owner for a large portion of the day.
Thanks and keep them videos coming !!
Thanks dude. Your Great.
Soo did you see the eggs in the cinderblocks?
You give such clear explanation on all info on quail….love ur channel..
can u tell me how to pick the eggs .. in the sense – how many days after its layed do you pick for incubation.. is there a max duration before an egg turns bad for incubation ? Also does it hatch naturally if left where its layed ?
Forgive my silly questions.. I'm really new to rearing quail ..
Quail look cool!!
Where can I buy quail eggs? Please?
Snap test for male and female has 50% success rate? Same rate as guessing…?
Nice video. I wonder if they would breed on their own. Thanks.
xD I was doing the dishes as I was listening. I plan to get quails for meat which I wish I had thought of years ago. Wanted to do that with chickens but my house was rezoned after I moved in so cannot keep roosters which was one of the reasons I chose my place in the first place. If I literally lived across the road I would still be allowed to have my roosters. I am on 1 acre and planned to be more self sufficient when I moved here 6 years ago and that has not happened. Now its time to start putting an effort in and start my veggie garden and fruit trees and have more then just chickens. Thank you for the informative videos. Love being able to go through your older videos and find what I am looking for.
Why my quail stars to eat each other meat by scratching each other
I've never actually seen one. I'm excited to order some. My new house has a sweet poultry pen
Man, you changed a lot over 4 years!! We all do!!!
I watch your channel all the time and never comment because you cover your topics so well. I just want to say thanks for sharing your expertise on a wide range of topics. I appreciate what you are doing, and it gives me the information I need to try new things. I am going to give raising quail a try. I have the lumber in the garage for pens as I type this comment. Once again, Thanks!
I really appreciate your videos whether it's planting a garden or raising quail. I'm hoping to start raising quail next spring. A Big Thank you from Ohio, USA!
Watching in August 2021 still like its fresh. such a nice person.
Hi Mark, thank you for the interesting video. How do quail cope with the cold weather? I'm in Wales UK. I've kept hens for over 35 years, and they cope with extra bedding, etc. But quail look so tiny. Thanks a lot.
Hello I’m getting 12 female quails and 1 male and I previously incubated chicken eggs and that was the best experience when I hatched them and I’m wanting to naturally incubator with the quails and are the 12 female and 1 male a good combination for breeding or should I just stick to the incubator.
Love your garden and quails videos (form Australia )
Where can I buy some from
We appreciate everything you do! Thank you for being a great teacher!
Pythons and owls and hawks. WAUW! So jealous right now!!! I just love everything about nature! I do so love to watch birds of prey and snakes are beautiful arent they? Amazing ceatures! I live in Belgium and we are currently enjoying the return of the wild wolf in our environment. Well, at least I am enjoying it! Most people are afraid….so sad. Some wolves have dissapeared, some have ended up dead on the road, some were shot. Why are we so unable to share our world with other creatures? They are strong and we are weak. Maybe we dont like to be reminded of the fact that we are not at the top of the food chain when we meet a bear, tiger or wolf!!
Unarmed humans are easy pickings…..soft, mushy and probably yummie like bacon LOL!!!!
