  1. Miss P, love all your videos and thanks you for teaching so much. We need to build a barn and would love to see a barn tour of your barn. Did you record your barn build?

  2. I personally don't sell my eggs mostly due to convenience and somewhat to the fact that people around here seem to think fresh organic eggs should be at stores pricing when those are rotten arsenic eggs

  3. <3 Love your video and your channel. Was sent here by Pure Living for Life to your "When homesteader's say 'I'm done'" video. Really eye opening stuff. Keep it up!

  4. How long do you have your roo and hen shacked up together? I'll have a couple different roos and not sure how long they need to be with a particular hen breed.

  5. I have a huge open market if I learn to milk goats and have honey bees. NO one does that where I live in 100 miles of me! I got it on the eggs. There is NO goats milk..we have to call it PET milk since it is illegal for human consumption. However, included in a CSA (also something we don't have here in 500 Miles!) box. How would you suggest I pack (inexpensive with packaging) of fresh milk or should I sterilize cheap mason jars and decorate them? What about gallon jars, they are expensive but I can use cheap plastic jugs but hey are plastic and many don't like plastic anymore. Any ideas?? I am determined not just to create a high quality sweet milk, cream, butter, cheese, etc but package it well for a long term farm business. I believe in doing it right the first time!

  6. Patara, I loved this video!!! My question is how do you keep track of the eggs after you gather them? Do you put them in old cartons and date them to maintain freshness until you wash them and put them in new cartons? I have several people in the family who gather the eggs and they just leave the baskets on the counter. Sometimes, with having to go to work, it might be a couple days before I am able to put the eggs in storage contains and no one bothers to put any kind of date on the container after they bring the eggs in. Help!!!!!! I need to find a way to keep tract of the days the eggs are gathered and any ideas on getting the others to be more helpful with organizing the eggs?

  7. I really enjoy watching your shows always like I was just wondering can you tell me how to get rid of ticks I have an urban farm well I'm trying but I have ticks I can't have chickens I wish I could do you have any alternatives I had to spray because every time I go out I get bit but I'd like to know for future what I can do

  8. Tennessee lady,    Great advice given with energy, passion and a smile!!   Do your customers prefer mixed (colored) eggs in a carton or only same color eggs together??   Do you date your cartons?   Thanks for posting!!                      S. Carolina

  9. We are starting this on a smaller scale right now and I surely appreciate all of your tips! Chickens are amazing!!! <<<Understatement of the year, right there. lol

  10. Patara, Thank you for the video but I have an important question. How do you deal with the regulations the FDA has when it comes to selling eggs? See we had a place we were selling our eggs. They shut us down due to these regulations such as we didn't have the RIGHT license and we didn't grade the eggs. So currently our selling is shut down. We're eating a lot of eggs. lol We know we can get around these issues if we sold direct from the farm but we really don't want a stream of strangers pulling in all day long. Who could get any work done that way! Needless to say we are pretty bummed by all this. Not to mention knowing what and how to do something the FDA is regulating is a pain in the backside. Any wisdom you can shed on how you cope with this would be greatly appreciated.
