Harvesting lettuce in a cut and come again fashion is something more people need to be doing. It allows you to grow more food in less space, get longer harvests into the growing season, and allows you to grow your plants much closer together. Try it!

I plant my lettuce is way too, except I leave some of it to go to seed so I don't have to buy Lettuce seed the next year.
How do you take leaves off to allow the plant to grow back again, but the rest of the plant not rot?

How do you keep it fresh in fridge? I’m ready to harvest.
My lettuce was neglected and are super tall, like a stalk a foot or two tall, with some leaves all the way up… how do you recommend harvesting that shape of lettuce? Is it okay to cut the stalk halfway or would that be cutting the crown?

Thanks so much for your great advice. I started a herbs/ lettuce garden. I can't do much as I was in a car accident. So starting a little herb veggie patch is just perfect.
