The color looks amazing! I am not a fan of jelly either, but this is something I may have to try.
Now that was super easy!! Who knew??? Thanks so much! God Bless y'all! ~Lisa
I can't wait to try this myself. Thank you for sharing.
We have always made our grape juice this way….since back to the 1970's, using our 100 year old concord grapes. It's so beautiful to watch the juice bleed out of the grapes as they cool. Grape juice is amazing to ward off strep throat. At the 1st tickle of a sore throat, I would start drinking this juice and it would stop the strep from growing because it alkalizes the acids in the throat.
I can't get over how crazy simple stupid this recipe is. I LOVE it. I am going to have to try this. Thanks Patara for sharing.
You really are blessed. God has given you the ability to work hard.
Unless your husband and the boys drink it too fast to record, please give us an update in 8 weeks or so.
Oh, you brought back so many memories with this. My aunt always made grape juice this way. Only difference being 1 cup grapes and 1 cup sugar to each quart. Pour boiling water over and process. I tried this with muscadines once too. I thought it was pretty good, but the family wasn't real keen on it. Great job! Thx
on my "got to try it" list –
You make me want to can some grape juice!
If I get more grapes, I'll have to try that. This year, I've discovered making natural soda in a cookbook called Nourishing Traditions. It only takes a few days for ferment, fresh juice (a juicer), some whey, salt, and sometimes sugar. or honey. Then I used the grape skins, a bit of extra juice, and rye flour to make a sourdough starter from the same cookbook.
I remember my granny making this same type of juice in half gallon jars. She would do her "runs" in a washtub over an open fire because there wasn't enough room in the water bath canner. We enjoyed eating the grapes off the top of the juice, it's like an extra treat.
Hello: I would like to taste it !
Could you use this basic recipe (1 c fruit and 1 to 4 ratio syrup) to make other fruit juices (raspberry)?
Looks delicious! Is Cora still around?
If you ever get a chance, grape butter rocks. We don’t have a lot of concords here but if I’m ever back able to glean after one grower back home is done picking, I make some jelly and some grape butter.
looks kinda like apple pie shine lol
I could see doing this with strawberries, raspberries, cherries… endless possibilities! Yum!
I also like using this method with sour cherries makes an amazing drink.
Sweety, I love pert near anything grape, this is a gotta try LOL 🙂 Thank you so much for the video, God Bless you and yours.
I cannot wait!! To try this juice! I have small seeded grapes I never knew what to do with. The birds will have to fight me for them now!!
How did the juice turn out? Delicious, I bet. Shalom
Just tried mine after seven weeks! Delicious! Subtlety grape and sweet. Yum!!
I know this video is older but I followed your instructions. Should my jars have any space at the top? If you turn the jars upside down, do you have any bubbles?
I remember watching this video year ago when it came out and now what do you know, but I have a me a ton of beautiful grapes! So I had to come back and watch it again Thank Patara your the best!
Any idea on using erythritol instead of sugar?
H! Can I use scuppernogs…I picked some small ones from a winery and they are sweet as honey. Thanks
Can you do this with cherries or other fruit
