  1. Ditto MI Gardner. I find everything you do not only informative, but intelligible, interesting and it makes sense! Results don't lie… Love your stuff + always look forward to seeing new ones/rewatching older ones too. You deserve much recognition for the quality of information and video you do. You are the number one "go to" on my subscription list!

  2. Thank you so much for your helpful videos. I am converting my 5 year old fruit trees and garden into a permaculture food forest and I really appreciate all your videos and advice.

  3. Hey James, don't forget to mention how a sustained cold snap, like we've had here in New England helps to kill off some of those nasty pests. We were below freezing and below 0 temps for over 14 days. Should have killed off a lot of the bad larvae living in the soil!

  4. This guy is just wonderful. I absolutely love his videos…So much info and encouragement for others to follow suit. Thanks James, you deserve a big Hug!

  5. There are always those that expect instant answers/results- instant rewards in games etc. Don't worry about those that can't let go or that don't understand how important this is to our futures & health. You do good work. Uncle Harry had a similar type of setup in Lexington-Concord & always had fruit others told him wouldn't be worth growing there. The 1s that needed more warmth- peaches plums oranges he kept by his above ground pool. He didn't use so many chemicals either. The 1s like apples & pears he kept farther from the house. His bees could find it all. Always had the Best tasting food.

  6. Awesome James ! I started BTE gardening on December 17 by planting potatoes in 12” chips. We shall see. Had to quit for a month due to surgery. Waiting for a break in the missouri snow to make more bed areas in this 6a zone ☃️

  7. When the snow melts or when you get heavy rainfalls, does the woodchips soak up all the water or do you get puddles somewhere? If so did you do something to control and/or spread the water? My yard is a compact clay, previously tilled piece of farmland and it gets puddles very easily because of its compact soil. I don´t really know how I should plan it as plants don´t really want to end up with their roots under water but at the same time I don´t want to drain out the summer rains but rather retain them. Your yard is flat as mine, what do you suggest for my problem?

  8. Holy mother of gawd…… NO, snow does NOT contain the kind of nitrogen compounds that plants use. The nitrogen that is in the air (and snow) is N2. Plants need Nitrates, which is NO3. A VERY different molecule. The N2 from the air is virtually useless, unless nitrogen fixing bacteria convert it to NH3, which then breaks down and converted to NO3, the kind plants use.

  9. Oww that snow looks so damn smooth, I would walk all over the yard if i were u and outside too and all over the neighborhood.fresh snow is the best!!That’s the perfect day of the year ♥️can’t wait for bigass snow day
