You are so inspiring, James. This is just what I needed before I head outside and get to work.
Last week I lost almost all of my 200 seedlings. 8 weeks, setback. So disheartening. But I'm determined to make this happen. I built a monster-sized grow light over the weekend, and spent all yesterday disinfecting everything and making new soil blocks. Today is seed day part 2. I'll have my heirloom tomatoes and eggplants if it's the last thing I do! ✊
By the way, how did the sand heating mat work out for you? If there's a video I missed, I apologize. I'll definitely catch up as soon as I get the chance to slow down.

I love your music! I'm an older generation but it's good! I've got my seedlings in cups like yours now and I like it. Been using wood chips on my property even in my dry lot for my horses! We took all garden beds running around the house and turned them into raised beds and future food forest!! Pretty foilage will now produce instead of just look pretty! I trippled my garden space. Your advice on low mateninence planting and perennials is very handy for this space! Thank you.
So how long do I have to keep adding wood chips. My entire yard is 14 inches deep in wood chips. Took me about 2 month to spread them out between work and kids. I think you're saying I need to do these wood chips every year? That's a crap ton of work. It's about 50 big wheelbarrow's full maybe more, every truck load.
