That's a great idea for the squash I'll have to give that a try. Garden looks great! Also I'm prettysure you can pick eggplant as soon as they start getting big enough you think you could eat them if you let them get too big they will be really seedy. Love swiss chard we grow tons of it.

are you able to reuse the straw bales for multiple seasons?
I harvest my eggplant when they’ve grown to a nice size and the skin is nice and shiny. I’ve heard to give a gentle pressure on the skin and they are ready when it doesn’t rebound, but I’ve never found that a great indicator. When they are shiny, large, and not hard (but still firm) they are ready. You will get to know as you harvest and cut into them. Everything looks great.
