Natural remedies don’t have to be hard, but they take a little forethought! Today we are starting our homemade fire cider recipe so it will be ready when cold season arrives!
A Homemade Fire Cider Recipe
1/2 C. Grated Ginger Root
1 medium onion, chopped
10 cloves garlic, chopped
2 jalapeno peppers
1 lemon, zested and juiced
1 lime, zested and juices
several rosemary sprigs or 2 T dried rosemary
several sprigs thyme
1 T. turmeric
1/4 t. cayenne
1/4-1/2 C rose hips
1 Q. Apple Cider vinegar.
Raw honey to taste.
Put all ingredients (except honey) in a large jar and pour apple cider vinegar over. Cover and place out of direct sunlight to ferment. Make sure you open the lid to “burp” every couple of days so your jar doesn’t explode. After 6 weeks. strain and remove all solids. Return liquid to jar and add honey to taste. Drink 1-2 oz as needed, at the onset of any cold-like symptoms, coughing, sore throat.

I have been making and drinking the Fire Cider/Master Tonic for 13 years now and I haven't been sick. When I started drinking it, I suffered from Acne and Candida. It all went away in a few months and I have just been getting healthier. If you don't want to make it yourself, I have mastered the recipe and it is delicious and made with LOVE! https://www.earthiemama.com/master-tonic/ Learn more about the benefits and frequently asked questions.
Well along with making my elderberry syrup, I am will add this to my list, for my household. Snowbirds are going to be flocking in like flies, and they aways bring their bugs with them, then the whole neighborhood gets sick. Sooo making a trip to the garden and store !!
I'm looking forward to trying out this version, it looks great! I've made a few fire ciders in the past, also called Master tonic, in which I always added some raw grated or chopped horseradish root… is this something you that you have or would try perhaps? Also, I love the idea of adding in the extra herbs and rosehips, I never thought of that before! 🙂
I have not tried this fire cider before, but I must try it, I sick all the time with a head cold and scratchy throat, thanks so much, is this the same thing Jenn Stivers was making 🙂 thanks for sharing
Just watched the Stivers take a shot of that and they sent me here. Think i'll make some next year. We got hit hard with the buggs since Halloween.
hi came from stivers homestead wanted to make this
What if you hadn't made it ahead of time, what's a good ready made one to buy???
Did Lauren create a youTube Channel?
Although I have a different opinion on BFF, thanks for the recipe. It's a universal definition.
This answered a lot of my questions! Thank you both!!
I want to try this. Never done any of this stuff before. I bought 64 oz mason jars. Where can I find the racks to boil them & does it have to be a specific size rack for my 64 oz jars? Also do you have a video how to sterilize the jars. Thank you!!!!
I make salad dressing with a bit of huney very similar to this. Thank you for this. I absolutely love your videos. I am very appreciative of you, your family, the education, knowledge, and love you give us in your videos.
Jess how long does this keep stored for the season? Is it best to store at rom temp. Or in refrigerator?
Wear do u find rose hips? How does it come? Likeness seeds etc
Best video I’ve seen on YouTube
How long does it last ?
How much rose hips do you add?
Can you make a video on essential oil I’m getting into oils but sometimes can get mixed signals on how to use would love to see an informative video on how and what to use in essential oils
Life changer hint: Put a flattened damp towel under your cutting board to keep it from spinnng/turning on you.
Hi Jess! I wish Lauren had a YouTube too! I love herbalism and she seems so knowledgeable and interesting. ❤️ and I need another YouTube channel in my life lol.
Has anyone ever had mold to grow in your fire cider? I have a batch that finished a couple weeks ago. It is in the fridge. There are little black specks floating on the top of the liquid. I cannot think of what it could possible be.
This is a great recipe. Who's kitchen are ya'll in?
Where do you get the big jars?
What if I can’t tolerate jalapeño peppers snd allergic to cayenne ?
How long is it good for. I made some one yr ago. Is it still good???
Thx Jess. Been wanting to try it
I just made my first batch tonight but added the honey right after the vinegar instead of after straining out the solids. Will that be ok?
Would anyone recommend using parsley? Or will that just ruin the flavour?
I’ve heard fresh parsley is really good for cold n flu because it almost has everything good in it and is high in vitamin c. Gross or good idea?
elephant garlic is not garlic at all. It is a radish.
