  1. Love beets. Roasted, and then blended into a smoothie with raspberries and apples. Or roasted with sweet potatoes, rutabagas, and jicama…pickled in a sweet and spicy brine.

  2. So I had a bunch of arrowhead radishes growing in a PVC cement tray on my deck. They looked like they were growing really good and when I thought they would be ready to harvest I pulled them. I was disappointed as the roots were so skinny! Big fail! WTF? Did I do wrong?

  3. Are you still thinning or have you tried the multi sow method @MIgardener is doing? I was blown away by his beet harvest. ALSO Asparagus I was searching your channel for a video on this topic and also going the permaculture route of letting Parsnips just go the first year and getting a crop that will naturally replant itself. Do you have much permaculture in your garden? Also, my husband and I have been doing the Youtube life for a while now (@HomePerformance totally different topic!) and I just love watching others bloom too. Well Done y'all!

  4. I tried growing radishes like 6 weeks ago in grow bags and the radishes are so small. I literally don't know what I did wrong… but they haven't grown that much at all… I did several different soils and none did well… my tomatoes on the other hand are still going strong in spite of the cooler weather. Maybe I'm not capable of growing simple things…

  5. I’ve started rutabaga and turnips indoors like Jess has said she’s done, for the fall. But can you do the same in the late winter and plant out in early spring or will I lose them to cold soil. I might just try an experiment bc I have two varieties that are “turnip/rutabaga crosses” gilfeather is the variety. Then I have laurentian which are the large ones for the fall.

If Jess has any insight on this or anyone else in the comments I’d love to hear. I’m zone 6a/b in NYS
