Thanks Maya, I’ve always wanted to know exactly how you built your Harbor Freight Greenhouse. I have the little one and the panels have gotten yellow. And they are pitted from a storm we had. So my husband bought me the larger one. And after having it for 2 months, it needed more bolts. How do you keep your greenhouse cooler in the summertime?
I have had my harbor freight greenhouse for about 4 years and it has been great. I didn’t think it would last very long when we put it up but I have been pleasantly surprised.
You do a great job Miah, building and explaining!
There is a product called Suntuf Foam Closure that has the corrugated wavy shape of the roof panels you used that is used to close the ends up. Home Depot has a rigid plastic version also.
Blessings
I'm a fairly new subscriber and I'm looking forward to watching the new greenhouse build videos. I've been considering building one but don't know where to begin.
If you do have to use the foam, once it is dry you can trim it with a knife or hacksaw blade and even paint it if you dont like the yellow
Nice
There is plastic curved riof moulding that goes under the corrugated roofing sheets. We have a bunch of it and ours is tan in color. It came from home depot. If you wrapped it in plastic then nail it and put roofing back down you should be golden… for heat retention.
Your video convinced me that we need treated 2x4s and clear panels.
I think your green house is sweet, by the way! We’re going to skip the kit and build ours from scratch. We live on a lake and the wind gets whipping during late summer. Thanks for the awesome video and tips!
This makes me so happy! I'm all about altering what you have. It's obvious 'Miah loves Jess so much!!!!
Great advertisement for harbor freight. Lol
You rock Mia!!!!….
Thanks for Sharing!!!!!
You should put in some solar power in the green house. You guys are so inspiring!
Hi Miah, I've just come across y'alls videos n they've inspired me tremendously!!!
I have the exact greenhouse from HF. It has lasted about 4 yrs. The 3rd yr panels started becoming brittle. I live in south Texas. Hot, hot n humid. We get coastal winds, even though we're 200 miles from Corpus. Tornadic winds came through about 4 yrs ago n no roof left. Been taping plastic for the winter that rots by mid summer lol. You've just given me a decision to make. Repair or build a new??? Just wanna say thanks for giving some valuable information on your experiences with repairs n modifications. Y'all keep up the great work n inspirations .
A lil' TX gardener, Melissa
you have saved me from trying to choose a kit for a green house. I think we will just build one. First step first, we need a place. sigh
Is the floor a gravel base?
You got some Canadian, Irish, and Southerner in you… must make you a super nice person lol….is your nana from NewFoundland by chance?
Hello Miah, I am so glad you made this video. I was about to tear down our harbour freight 10×12 greenhouse but you have given me the idea of doing what you did as I mainly want to replace the terrible panels with polycarbonate roof panels all over.i assume you know they make a foam for the ends of the panels to seal from air.
I rrally appreciate this video. Thank you! Great info.
There are special foam end caps for that kind of roof. They are the same pattern as the panels. You can get at Home Depot.
Its beautiful dude! Omg, come look at mine lol Hopewell's Hottest on Facebook….
Loved it
Thank you very informative. God Bless.
How do you decide where (location) to build the greenhouse? Full west sun? All south? TIA
