VIDEO: They Called Me Crazy For Planting Onions This Way But it Works!

They told me I was crazy, but it really works! Dense seeding for onions is an amazing way to grow over 3,000 plants in 30 times less space then it normally would take. Try it!

  1. You make me happy too! You have a great attitude and a beautiful vibe man. A wealth of information, thank you. Keep being who you are and doing what you’re doing! So great!

  2. I try to plant in a triangular pattern which also allows you to plant a little closer together. For the bulb onions I can see spacing them out, but for bunching onions you can pretty much just mark out a square area and broadcast them. Shallots of course need slightly more space though I've never learned to use them.

  3. Im almost certain Ive worked in a field patch of wild onions. I could distinctly smell them everywhere but never found a bulb….hahaha its because it grows like a grass when it densley populated.

  4. Is it possible to put too many seeds in ? I have transplanted mine, but they mostly flop over, should I trim them? Did I plant them too soon, or perhaps too many per cell? I did plant them from seeds that I gathered last year so mostly I'm thrilled to see they actually came up!

  5. Last year i planted some onions in an area that turned out to be too shady. The onions didn't get too big so i never bothered harvesting them. This year, they got bigger and grew faster but it was producing a scape fairly early in the season.

  6. I'm so glad I found this video now before spring. I've been rummaging through your past videos as I plan my 2022 garden! I wanted to ask where I might find seed starting trays like the one in this video? I'm so glad I found your channel! It's really helped me up my gardening game!
