Great info and tips Oppe. I'm going to start conditioning a second set of bales we sourced this week. Will do a quick highlight of those in a future video.
Cheers,
Rob
nice video bro i love Tomatoes
Are the varieties you are growing heirlooms, hybrids, or a combination? I know Wisconsin 55 is an heirloom. It's interesting to me that the two heirlooms I'm growing have set flowers and fruit before the hybrids, even though they have longer maturity dates than the hybrids.
I still get confused about indeterminate and the other…. My tomatoes are still alive. Not getting much bigger yet though.
Two per bale would drive Rene nuts! LOL. Awesome job done showing folks how easy it really is to plant your starts into those bales. Your a great teacher my friend! Keep up the amazing work and have a great day!
Oh man i thought you were going to crack the stem of the tomato. You had me nervous lol
Another great video
Good timing! I just bought my plants, and will dig them in tomorrow. I was envisioning adding compost or something — but stuffing the straw back in makes sense! Pretty excited to see this in action!
Glad to see things are going well. Good video!
Looking good my friend. So glad to see the sun shining on you too!
Why did you plant the marigolds? I saw that Planet Mojo did the same but neither say why. Your garden is beautiful!
I always feel like the garden is in full swing when the tomatoes and peppers are planted out. You did a great job showing how this is done in the bales.
I came over from Rob's Essayons Family Garden for the challenge. Those are beautiful tomatoes. I might have to try the Italian heirloom tomato.
My first time seeing tomatoes transplanted in a straw bale. Very interesting…
I probably missed it but how did you prepare the straw bale
The planting is great. How do you set-up the bales for planting?
