Thank you for sharing your garden… We call them Ladybirds… in Scotland…
Help!!!! I commented previously about ordering the blacklight (Coast) and I can't find the original post. – The light I ordered arrived and I made a mistake and the "black" I received is a black casing. Is there any way you can give me the item number on Amazon, or a link to the correct blacklight? I haven't asked hubby yet to see if he wants to keep what I ordered, and received but it's not the blacklight I was intending. Thanks for the assistance.
I forgot to tell you I had the same problem with my dogs chewing up their beds but found a bed they cannot chew, a coolaroo. It is a heavy fabric stretched tight over a metal frame. It keeps them up off the ground but they would have a dickens of a time trying to get their mouth around anything to chew or tear up.
Wonderful ladybugs
for the dog – if he sleeps in a crate – get a primo pad and get the zip ties to tie it down inside the crate https://www.primopads.com
as for being "behind" ? it's so cold and wet in NY, I only got the last of my garden in yesterday – some of my tomatoes are only about an inch and a half tall right now. My beet and lettuce seeds only went in two days ago 🙁
We are in our mid seventies and it is really hard to plant and keep up a garden so this year was really hard because we had to replant and replant because of the weather here in central Oklahoma…..wind hail and rain, rain, rain. Nothing is looking great and way behind. Now bugs, worms, bugs and more bugs. I love watching your garden grow and it is helpful to know that we are not the only ones struggling. I hope all the fall gardens do better! Love you and your family. I also, am looking forward to your next devotional……I love your walk with God. You remind me of myself 40 years ago raising my kids on a farm and walking the gravel road spending time with the Lord.
I am loving your garden. I hope by the time I retire from my job, my garden is as beautiful as yours. Thank you so much for sharing. I love the plants and the knowledge you are sharing. Have a Blessed Day! *HUGS & PRAYERS* from Kelly and critters at Piney Haven Homestead.
I have one thing growing in my garden that is an overachiever this year. It is crab grass! It has rained so much I haven't been able to keep up with it.
The kids are just too cute!
Knowing this is just a hard year for all is encouraging. I have nothing to compare this year to since it’s my first year, but I wondered if this was normal or if something was wrong.
The way Ben says mulch is the cutest ever!!!!
GOOD JOB ! ! !
It's been a hard gardening year…most of our topsoil ended up floating away here in oklahoma, my greenhouse was a living Noahs Ark by the time it stopped raining there was no garden to plant in. Fall gardens are going to make up for it…
I didn't water the garden before letting te lady bugs out. I think they are gone now. I did get the praying mantis eggs in. I will water good when the praying mantis start hatching.
Thank you. Enjoyed!
Love the videos as always. VERY helpful to see your struggles also as it helps me with mine. Question? What is that watermelon you called Benny ??? growing on the trellis? Trying to find a smallish one to grow on mine. Tried to grow the Kajari melon but not a single seed sprouted for me. 🙁
I love how Ben was doing the Vanna White hand wave to show off the zinneas 🙂
Love the update..and the perfect title..he cracks me up. It's been a tough gardening year here to. The storms and torrential/flooding rains day in and day out held us back from the gardens. We are behind schedule but I think we will be okay.
I’m learning how to garden to survive an EMP attack. No Amazon Prime ladybugs, but stockpiles of malathion and copper spray.
Plant some cucuzzi (Italian edible gourds). So far, they are bulletproof. Tastes like a nutty yellow squash. Pickleworms and borers haven’t touched them. Also, my Japanese cucumbers are doing well, despite pickleworms. Its early July in NW Florida, and they’re still producing.
Imagine that being your vision cause glasses fog like that mayb even worse
Put some mosquito netting over your squash next time!
I'm too scared to use Ladybirds as pest control after farmers/gardeners introduced invasive Harlequin Ladybirds into our country. Not only are they out competing our natives but they're more likely to bite too.
Please be sure you're using bugs native to your area before you buy!
Hi Jess came across your videos a day or two ago. I must say I love them. I really enjoy your love for your family, nature, gardening, critters. Such beauty each teach us so much and are very close to my heart too…
I love your channel and needed this today after learning a friend was murdered a couple days ago. Those kiddos are the cutest. Bless you guys
Totally agree with others, Tomatoes are my Precious, would make a fantastic T shirt, with a sketch of a tomato truss and baby cherries on it, and I love the way Ben just gobbled up the handful of cherry toms, he is such a sweetie. this is almost 12 months ago, and he has grown so much,
Tomatoes are my precious also, Ben❤️❤️❤️
