Before you touch any of those suckers…there are a couple of things you need to know about pruning tomato plants. This is true whether you are growing a Square Foot Garden or Raised Bed, or Indoor Tomato Plants. In this video I’ll talk about the reasons we prune, some reasons are obvious…some not so obvious…..Next I will talk about the proper tool to use to minimize damage to the plant….Third I will discuss the variety of tomato plant you are growing and how that matters in pruning. Fourth, the heat and humidity in your growing zone may affect some of your pruning choices….and last, at the end of the growing season, as we are nearing the fall frost date, you might want to do some extra pruning to help speed up the ripening process.

Happy Pruning!
Thank you, again.
I just have started 3 kratky tomatoe plants (First time ever) and was wondering when and how to prune.
You answered all my doubts and more.
They are indererminate and here we have Sun all the year, so I think I 'll have fruits for a long time.
Thank you.
Insects do not always damage the plant!!! Did u forget the pollinators? I've been pesticide free this season. Insect control is done by REPTILES! lizards and frogs!
Very interesting video, thanks!
If you have a short growing season it might help to grow in a conservatory or greenhouse or at least in pots so you can move them inside later. Mine were ripening into November that way, otherwise i'd not have had many tomatoes.
Well done
