  1. I grew petunias from seed and they grew fine, but after I put them in baskets they died after about a month.I bought some and again the same thing happened would you have any idea why this happened.
    Thanks

  2. Thank you! I am excited to get started. I really enjoy the planner an how it shows when to sow seeds. The seed companies try to help me by sending them at the right times, but I still would have tried to sow my watermelons and pumpkins along with my herbs and would have ended up with gigantic plants and too much transplanting.

  3. I love your videos, Ben! They are clear, to the point and very informative! Your affect is warm, inviting and friendly. You are a great Garden Mentor! Thank you!

  4. Hey, I've been trying to germinate seeds in the dark, had success with first batch: broad beans, tomatoes, cabbage and kale. Second batch is courgette, cucumber, squash, climbing beans and sweetcorn and not going so well! Any tips? Maybe it's because it's gotten a little colder?

  5. Really enjoyed your video. Where are you located? My farm is in a place called Nichols SC US. About 100 people live there. I've been planting things for a long time, but good ideas continue to come along. I'll be watching all of your videos to pick up more pieces of wisdom. Well done.

  6. I have tried planting seeds during the winter too. as a Winter Seed Sowing! thou because I never tried it before. I planted them in December in containers and left them outside. to see what would happen in the spring.

  7. My problem is always lighting and space. I have a market garden so I have too many seedlings at a time for the window sill. And I don't have the money for a greenhouse, and grow lights and shelves are super expensive. I'll probably just have to forget about anything that can't be direct seeded for a while. 🙁

  8. Do you have any tips on how to get seeds going with very limited space and no greenhouse/propagation available other than food bags? I never manage to get a reliable crop of tomatoes and stuff like that planted and often rely on buying store bought plants and letting them grow over using seeds.

  9. I am very new at sowing seeds and I am unsure when I should take off my plaster too to keep them wet and moist and trap the heat, they are now tall enough where they are up against the clear plastic top. Should I take that off?
