Can you do this with store bought non organic onions?
So you bag the flowers when it flowers. Do you hand pollinate before you close the bag?
I was looking for updates on the onions and the extra step of bagging saving and harvesting the seeds can you let me know where the links to follow up videos?
Thank you!!!
Is cross pollination such a bad thing
I love that you encourage seed saving! Especially since you sell seeds 🙂 would February be too early to do this? (If the ground is workable)
Thanks, I never thought of this.
Handsome
Love the idea of seed saving, this is a sure fire way to be food independent
Did you do a video on sweet potatoes?
How do you store your onions so that some actually sprout before going moldy/bad?
I'd love to hear how you cold store produce to last through the winter
how far away can you plant varieties so they dont X pollinate I dont understand how Mr bee can work through a paper bag?
Totally awesome that you have a seed company and are still encouraging seed saving! Thank you
Just starting, onions is a great start, next is garlic
would i be able to do this, but in a pot in the warmth over winter, to have seeds ready for spring?
seed saving is my main reason to buy heirloom seeds to begin with.
I planted some red onions from last year hoping to get seed for next year but they didn't produce a seed pod. They produce great bulbs though. I wonder what I did wrong.
Luke I’m only sorry I missed this video last year. I’m just learning again with a Brain injury. I’m trying to re-learn vegetable gardening and seed saving. I have to watch several times.
Have tried this 3 years in row and have yet to get it to work , any advice?
Only thing I would have questions on is which varieties have issues with cross pollination vs. Seed salvaging.
I save seed and am always ready to learn more
Hi Luke, great video! I'm up in central Ontario and am within a couple weeks of starting my onions from seed for this year's harvest. I love this video's content and will be saving some of my own onions to plant for seed the following year. I have a question though. On the year that you plant them for seed, do they not still produce a bulb later in the season that can be harvested to eat that year? I look forward to your response, and YAY, spring 2022 is ALMOST HERE!!!
I have onions and want to reproduce them but don’t want seeds. So, do you do it like in the video or put the bottom in water??
Thank you.
What were the onion varieties called?
Yes plz save seeds its going to be needed in coming years. trust me!
Last year I have saved celery and carrot seeds. lots of them
This is a really nice gesture of yours. I'm really interested in seed saving and I have a hard time finding quality information about the subject. I share the vision that gardening is much more than only growing vegetable for a single season.
Thank you for all this great information! 🙂
