aren't the deck boards treated with chemicals? won't those chemicals leach into the soil?
i think you pill too much wood chip at the base of the tree. you should clear the base of the tree of the wood chip. just push it out farther out away from the base and allow the base to dry out.

One question Boss(and friends ). Is it convenient to put the kitchen leftovers in a hole in the garden after digging on earth? I just want to avoid the flies and bad odours and enrich the soil. I happen to have a small garden.

If you really want to test that the chemicals on the boards will be bad, first let the ground be analyzed, than put the mulch and test it again after one year, 5 years to see the result !

What I constantly see lately is the ALL SEEING EYE on your shirt. Now on a damnable mask. WHY?
There's a gang of 15-20 turkeys living in my woods; usually two or three strutting toms in the spring. A couple of years ago I had chipped up a pile of cedar four or five feet high. Went back about a month later to get a bucket load and the turkeys had spread it out all over to a depth of three or four inches! And to think, Ben Franklin wanted them to be our national bird.

Look closely at mulch you buy from the store. Most of it is ground pallet wood. Who knows what kind of toxic stuff they held.

I would have used it in the ornamental front gardens. First, because it is really pretty and would look gorgeous for the front yard. Also, it wouldn't be around the primary fruit orchard trees.

Hi Mark, this chipper is a beast mate! NZ made like myself, I'm contemplating purchasing one from my local Yamaha dealership who stocks them, can you tell me if the chipper is good at doing fresh conifer trimmings as I have a huge Macrocarpa (Monterey Cypress) hedge that requires regular trimming and leaves me with a massive mountain of stuff to get rid of at the green waste dump, like 4 whole big caged trailers full.
