Also, sorry about your guineas. Loosing one bird is always sad, loosing a flock is worse.
My sister in law had pea hens n chickens. She could not let the chickens free range as the hawks n eagles would get them.She built fencing with netting over the top. I helped but didn't stop other critters… Battle with mother nature is a challenge. Great job saving the turkeys! Be safe.
I have foxes visit my chicken house most nights. Our least secure chicken house is surrounded by electric poultry fencing. It keeps them out, I've heard one yelp in the middle of the night after touching it. Never tried again. So glad your critters have such a protective mamma.
So sorry you lost your guineas, hope your turkey will be ok. I understand protecting your animals. My next door neighbor had a momma dog that jumped the fence and was attacking my little dog and my granddog was trying to protect him. I jumped in and started hitting the momma dog with a broom and screaming at the top of my lungs. My son comes out running and the neighbor. If I had a gun, I would have shot that dog. My son said mom I can't believe you dud thst, what if she had attacked you, gotta protect our animals. My dogs are part of my family. We just had fox problems eating my baby chicks. We put them up for awhile. To keep them safe. Hope that fox moves on cause he just might die
I'm sorry about your animals getting hurt or lost. The coyotes just took out entire flocks of chickens at our former AZ ranch…even our big fat ducks–right in the middle of the day. They were too fast to get to with a BB gun or anything. Devastating 🙁

I'd rather deal with a fox instead of the coyotes we have here that aren't even supposed to be here. Plus we have had a cougar show up 2 times. Not supposed to be in our area either. It is a wild wild world.
